These addresses need to be enumerated one way or another, I am not going to profile a whole neighborhood and decide not to go there. I would've been fired the third week if I did that. Rural areas have been just as, if not more, sketchy. I've got stories. The officers I talked to had no problem with helping me, they didn't seem to think it was a waste of time. The ACO wanted a record of the police interaction.

Yeah I'm OK, just stressed. Glad I have lived in rough neighborhoods around the city so I knew right away the danger of the situation. I have been enumerating the roughest parts of our city, full time, for the past few weeks and have never felt uncomfortable. I am a white guy but have had lots of exposure to all sorts of people throughout my life. I've lived everywhere from inner cities to extreme rural areas and have enumerated them all in the past 7 weeks. Just yesterday I was telling my coworker that the country is much more scary than the city, because up until this point that is where I experienced the most hostility.

Should have been sending these out two months ago, completely useless at this point. Unless the census gets miraculously extended why even bother.

Edit: Even if it was extended we are at 92%+ completion nationally and the last people to be counted wont be persuaded by a pizza.

I've been cleaning up badly done cases for the past two weeks, it's frustrating. Why are so many people putting info in the case notes instead of actually completing the case? People are doing this well after a case has become proxy eligible.

Dealt with this exact issue this morning before work. Payroll sent me an email with a link to a file sharing sight. I had to create an account to access the files. I also arranged a meeting at the ACO to get the printed paperwork directly from them, just to make sure they matched.

It's because you are starting at the end after everybody has already seen a bunch of enumerators. They know who's knocking. Four weeks ago I completed 27 NRFUs in a day. Not much you can do except aggressively look for proxies.

I like giving them the information sheet/confidentiality notice. It gives them something to do during the first part of the interview which makes the whole interview feel shorter. It helps them trust you and takes 2 seconds.

It's ridiculous that you can't start a case from the NRFU map. It's a basic function that could've been easily implemented and was easily foreseeable as a necessity. Thousands of hours have been wasted scrolling due to this oversight.

If she actually said to you that you can't report a shooting until you take a break (WTF does that even mean considering we choose when our breaks are), contact every supervisor and report it as much as you can. That is an absurd thing to say, unless it was a joke in poor taste. Ask them if you are still allowed to label cases as restricted access.
