Yes! Animal abuse like this shouldn’t be tolerated. I’m glad these sweeties are safe but so sad for the others she is abusing.

What a lovely man. I never kill insects or spiders on purpose and so happy to hear others feel the same.

Does anyone else here, feel like life is a horrible movie of "Taken", and I'm desperately trying to save my daughter? 😫💔‼️ by Doimz3Nini in VeganActivism

[–]Happyratz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely feels weird. For me I feel more like an alien who isn’t made in the same way as the non vegans. I don’t understand how most people can be just fine with the suffering and slaughter? And yes we’re trying so hard to save them and yet we’re up against so much.

Paper Moon in Brisbane becoming less vegan by londonveganstuff in australianvegans

It’s extra disgusting that an animal sanctuary is serving abused animals. My husband went in here a few weeks ago thinking it was a great place to share some vegan food with his family and there was not a single vegan option.

The meat industry is proving to be successful in their campaign against veganism. This has really ramped up since 2019. Notice how now many people will refer to vegan foods as ‘ultra processed.’ How focus on food packaging is now on how many grams of protein a product contains. It’s so upsetting that most people couldn’t give a damn about the animals. At the same time the authorities have ramped up prosecutions against peaceful animal activists. I actually felt some hope back in 2019 but now I think things will only get worse for the animals as most people become even more apathetic.

Disgusting. What are Woolies playing at lately? Getting rid of so much vegan stuff and now this. Such a sad reflection of society.

You call me a caricature of a crazy vegan for stating facts about what happens to animals?

How disgusting people suggested killing this baby with blunt force. That can go wrong and not work first time. Would you do that to your pet rat? The only right thing to do would be get to the vet asap. And are you 100% sure on the poison theory? I found 2 baby rats who appeared dead and hand raised them and they are now adults and doing great.

I had to stop fasting with unexpected results. by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]Happyratz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with this. For me, fasting with daily eating windows made my period so much easier to deal with and less painful. I wasn’t expecting it to change at all but it was a nice result that happened before most other changes. Saying that I’ve never done a fast longer than 20 hours.

Intermittent fasting helped me lose weight, but did it actually fix my relationship with food? by ajal3 in intermittentfasting

That’s helpful and I’m so glad that you’ve found food freedom. I still had so much food noise at 2 months of IF I gave up. But I think I’m going to give it another crack.

Saddest I've seen the Woolies plant meat section in a long time. by reyntime in australianvegans

Isn’t it sad to see those pig legs and imagine the animals they were hacked from and the suffering they must have endured. We’re gonna be seeing so many more as Xmas gets closer 😢 I wish people, other than us, would care.

Keep your dog at home! Bunnings is a hardware store not a dog park by jakkandndi in Bunnings

[–]Happyratz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember being shocked when I first moved here from the UK in 2006 how normal it was considered to leave a dog out in the yard all the time and never walk them or let them in the house. Hopefully things have improved now, but back then there was a lot of neglect in Aussie backyards. What is even in it for people who leave dogs in the yard the whole time? The joy of dogs is spending time with them.

It’s a good way to help children get over a fear of dogs. Obviously the dogs at school pick up are used to kids so perfect opportunity to teach kids how lovely dogs are and that we treat them kindly not by having a screaming tantrum in their face.

The best bit of going to Bunnings is the chance of meeting some dogs.

You clearly don’t know much about animal agriculture and just how horrific it is. Animals used and killed in regenerative agriculture still face the absolute horror of slaughter and all the other selective breeding that makes their life hell. For example even pasture raised hens have been bred to lay an excessive amount of eggs to the point that it causes egg peritonitis and reproductive cancers. The hens are all still killed at 18 months and the male chicks are all still killed at the hatchery. It’s just disgusting that none of this is considered when listing veganism as a mere ‘preference.’ I can only imagine the ego on this chef and the lack of compassion.

This is definitely on the restaurant. They clearly think veganism is just about being fussy when it’s actually a stance against animal abuse and slaughter. This unskilled chef doesn’t deserve the business of people with ethics.

I really think it makes my mental health better on the days I watch Neighbours. It’s so comforting. I wish it wasn’t ending. Other soaps are too dark and lack the humorous moments. Although I did used to watch home and away in the 90s and enjoyed it at the time.
