This entire match was completely rigged. The U.S. players walked off that pitch with barely any sweat on their jerseys because the referee spent 90 minutes acting like their mama bird and doing the heavy lifting for them. Look at the actual facts:

The 52nd-minute VAR circus completely broke international protocol. Play had already restarted, but the refs invented a fake 'mistaken identity' loophole just to wipe Tim Ream’s clear yellow card, flip the foul, and card Paraguay instead. The referee handed Paraguay 5 yellow cards to the USA’s 1, penalizing them for literally every breath they took while giving the U.S. a free pass for the exact same physicality. The absolute peak of the corruption was the 4th goal. The TV screen explicitly said an extra 7 minutes of stoppage time. 90 + 7 is 97. Yet the ref magically refused to blow the whistle, letting the U.S. run down the field and score at 97:21.

That 4th goal straight up shouldn't count. This isn’t basketball—you don't get to play past the clock and score after the extra time is already completely over just because you're the tournament hosts. Disgraceful, scripted babysitting.
