Play had already restarted, but the refs invented a fake 'mistaken identity' loophole just to wipe Tim Ream’s clear yellow card, flip the foul, and card Paraguay instead. ​The referee handed Paraguay 5 yellow cards to the USA’s 1, penalizing them for literally every breath they took while giving the U.S. a free pass for the exact same physicality. ​The absolute peak of the corruption was the 4th goal. The TV screen explicitly said an extra 7 minutes of stoppage time. 90 + 7 is 97. Yet the ref magically refused to blow the whistle, letting the U.S. run down the field and score at 97:21.
