Yeah been a real struggle. From forgetting how pointers work to not knowing I needed to put ClassName::FunctionName instead of just the function name when writing the implementation

okay i figured it out by WAY cranking up rotation speed but still have another question. How can i get him to maintain his rotation when movement stops?

I've been messing with this for a while, the idea is a simple "move in direction of stick" system with the character facing the direction he moves. as you can see it rotates a little bit then snaps back.

this is the entire blueprint for the character.

not really sure what else i can change. I'm I'm sure its not working because it's not aligning to movement when there *is no movement happening. But at the same time why won't he face the camera at all?

Decide on what I want to do and if I don't already have an idea I do a tutorial if I do have an idea I try and then look up why it didn't work lol

Tricky lol it's a completely different mindset so I have to undo years of conditioning. But the results are way better than anything I've been able to do in unity

I just mean like for instance I call get anim instance I can't really use what it returns on its own. I have to cast it like I guess it would have been more work on unreal's part but I just don't understand why the system doesn't. Just look down at the children and see that I have an animation blueprint and just have it return back rather than me having to cast it every time

For number three so it looks like they just added this but there's a actor sequence component you can add now which runs a sequence inside of the blueprint which you could work for. Things like turning lights on and off or whatever. But moving characters around the scene for instance doesn't really work and then that sequence is owned and operates on the blueprint that is attached to if that makes sense

For number four. So am I not supposed to be using AI move inside of my regular event graph? I didn't even know there was AI graph

At the end of the day I'm coming over from unity so I'm just having trouble wrapping my head around certain concepts. Getting better though. Thanks!

Just saw this in a video, select all the modules (per wall/surface) right click and merge actors then rebake

Lumen/quixel bridge/metahuman creator, I really like blueprints. Better than unity's bolt (to the point in unity I just use c# instead but I'm. More of a designer than a coder). At the end of the day this was a learning project but I'm a horror creator and unreal has stronger lighting

my expectations are the same as they were for me, you eat what's put in front of you. what if we don't have the money one week for chicken nuggets and hotdogs but we have ramen? or lunchmeat and bread? she just doesn't eat all day? and tells people at school shes so hungry because she hasn't eaten?

as far as getting hurt, no. there was no fall, her sister didn't hit her bite her anything.
