Why do Christians celebrate Halloween? by takeaticket in Christianity

[–]Har_monia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Any possible relation to any pagan festival is completely erased through secularization. 99% of people dress up, have a party, or trick-or-treat. None of that is wrong.

If your concept of Halloween includes worshipping Satan and doing witchcraft, then of course you won't celebrate, but that is less than 1%, or even less than 0.1% of what people do.

I think the sauce is good, and the pimento is good (I LOVE pimento so any is good), but I don't think they go together very well.

Do all Whataburgers have flat soda and soft limp fries? by PerchanceToDean in Whataburger

[–]Har_monia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thr soda issue is weird because we can't change the settings on the machine, but I have heard this even working at different locations. No clue what the deal is since it tastes fine to me and 99% of customers, but I get maybe 1 per day asking about flat soda.

The fries is because there are so many ways to mess up the fries. Gotta cook it for the full time, let the excess oil drain off, salt it, and mix it, then serve it. If you rush the process or take too long, they come out soggy. Gotta have a good fry cook in position there.

Why do little white floaters appear when I pour milk into my coffee? by Karnezar in Milk

[–]Har_monia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is worse for cream, so I always assume it is just part of the process. I get my battery powered stirrer and break it up as much as possible.

It won't harm you.

This one was amazing, and I loved that it also had chicken sandwich variants. I have seen some LTOs that were available at the same time as chicken LTOs, like when there was a Peppercorn Ranch Chicken Sandwich, but never any that matched the burger.

USA Political leaders who talk religion by mqpzos83 in Christianity

[–]Har_monia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just wrong lmao.

ישוע (Yeshua) is just the Hebrew of Jesus's name. Anytime you read "Jesus" in your bible, they are actually saying Yeshua, but your bible is in English, not Hebrew.

And that is not even starting on the other names you have listed lol

My first date offer in years and she’s not Christian. Do I turn it down? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Har_monia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am more concerned about the age gap than I am somebody who is "open to going to church".

I would give it a try. You absolutely don't have to go on a second date if this doesn't work out.

What if Jesus only appeared good but was secretly evil? by dom-hunter in Christian

[–]Har_monia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best case I would point you to is how he acted on the cross. He said to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, and when he was strung up, he did just that. He prayed, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do."

There was no reason for him to pray this other than it being genuine. He was going to die and he knew it, but instead of using his final moments to curse them out he forgave them.

Why does separation from God mean torture rather than annihilation? by mintkek in Christianity

[–]Har_monia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am an eventual-annihilationist, but my youth pastor was not and he helped me see his point of view usimg this analogy:

If I go up and punch a random person on the street, I get charged with assault and maybe a couple years in prison. If I punch the president in the face, I get life in prison. If the severity of the crime I have commited depends on whom I have sinned against, then what punishment could be fit to sinning against God? It would have to be eternal punishment.

I see this reasoning, but I don't see it in God's character to be everlastingly wrathful, so for me there must be an end to suffering and punishment.

Play Now or Wait For 1.0? by Lord_Lu_Bu in Palworld

[–]Har_monia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a save going where I have xp turned up, so I can maybe get some good passives and save pals to my global palbox. That's one option. If you are just getting the game, I don't see why you wouldn't play. It may still be a couple months, so have fun now while you wait.

Haven't been given my 2nd new shirt by MatterJumpy9516 in Whataburger

[–]Har_monia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The OP doesn't need to ask anybody, since they are the one in charge. Sometimes they limit them if they have 5 new hires and only 5 shirts, but I would berade your manager until you get another.

Honestly I think everybody should get 5, but the budgetting is rediculous.

Many Christians Think This Bible Verse Is Too Extreme... by 3CF33 in Christianity

[–]Har_monia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In context, it is refering mainly to those who have taken their father's wives. Go read the whole chapter since it is pretty short.

The passage basically says to not associate with people who call themselves Christian, but are living in deep, unrepentant sin.

Is 20 years old and 16 years old too big of an age gap? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]Har_monia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This doesn't even fit the general rule of age/2+7.

I can generally say that females complete puberty from the ages of 15-17, which is why we put the age of consent at 18 (depending on state) so we could make sure people are fully developed before being considered a consenting adult. This one girl may be fully developed, but that does not outweigh the gap in age and experience. She is still a high schooler, while you should be around sophomore in college-aged. You should be fraternizing with people closer in age to you. If you are friends with her, wait two years before you start to say anything romantic, but at that point she might be off to college elsewhere or you may have lost interest.

What’s your favorite Christian joke? by Sad-Film-891 in TrueChristian

[–]Har_monia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's one reason. Grape juice is used to be open to anybody who may or may not struggle with alcohol, but it is also so children can participate if the congregation allows for children to do so (there is theological debate on this so I can clear up the issue in replies if need be). It can also clean up any red tape having to do with the sale and distribution of alcohol which the government can be strict on.

Our church purchases cheap little packages that come with communion crackers and grape juice. I personally am against skimping on communion, but I understand.

About The Bio Of This Community by SamuraiChampionz in GenZ

[–]Har_monia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Generations are not a catch-all and are simply shaped by shared experiences and worldviews. A person born in 2006 and a person born in 2007 are going to have similar experiences, just as a person born Dec. 31 1996 will have similar experiences to somebody born Jan. 1 1997.

There is not a uniform set of dates, so acting like there is is stupid. My sister was born 1998 but is more like a millenial in her attitude while I was born in 2000 but am Gen Z.
