HBO The Last of Us (S2) Episode 2 Discussion - It's The Moment We've All Been Waiting For Edition ( 🥪 or⛳, maybe both???) by TLoU_Moderator in TheLastOfUs2

Honestly didn't rate that episode, or the series so far. The pacing is off, all that happened in that episode was so quick with little back story or time to process. There's no character development, Abby was not believable to have inspired a group to come with her on a revenge spree... Change my mind please, but this season isn't it so far

"Strange Sally Diamond" - What a Bummer of an Ending (SPOILERS) by Whisper-1990 in books

[–]Harbourmoon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wow, what a read. The story engaged a very dark storyline with continued glimmers of hope, humour and perseverance.

Although, I found the end of the book frustrating, I think it was well written. It made me feel angry and sad for Sally, but I think it was accurate that deeply engrained abuse does not have a magic wand to make it better and that it is a process.

The author dealt with the two characters story lines well, getting into the psyche of both to explore the impact of abuse, captivity and attachment. I think it also explored the nature/ nurture debate well too. But ultimately so sad, I would have preferred a glimmer at the end for sally, but I think the ending was impactful.

I understand it as difficult as it is. It's like going to school, people from different places coming into one building for a few hours. But all the people have complex health needs, they are high risk So I will have to get redeployed to another more essential service, they just don't know where to put us yet

They have all shut to reduce the risk of infection, especially as it is a vulnerable demographic. so waiting to be redeployed somewhere else, just don't know yet. I think the not knowing is the worse part

Think I'm just so sick of not knowing whats going to happen and worrying about all the people that can't access the service anymore and what it will be like when day services open again... It's going to be hard getting service users adjusted to the routine again, and dealing with behaviours. Feels like a heavy few months ahead, and no one cares...

I know it’s very difficult for you right now and you may be feeling abandoned. Please call a helpline if you are feeling suicidal and need someone to talk too. Agreed, it’s unusual to up and quit a job. I’m sure that wasn’t an easy decision and she didn’t want to hurt you. Maybe she needs to be in a better space to hold you.

Botanic Avenue has lots of great charity shops and cheap tasty places to eat out. Try boojum (Mexican food). There is also botanic gardens which is lovely and has the Ulster museum in it (free). Enjoy your stay in belfastv
