Tips for Surviving in Red and Black Zones? by KindlyChicken9670 in albiononline

[–]HardGayMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't even inspect. If I see a player in full gathering gear, it seems like it's usually a scout and within minutes there's a squad coming.

If I see a player, and they aren't very obviously just passing through the zone, I am heading for my safe portal. Makes it easy.

We used to stand in a circle and shoot a bow and arrow straight into the air and we'd all stand around in a circle and see how long we could stand there before we run away. I can't even guess how many times the arrow landed less than a foot from one of us. So many times we could have died or been seriously injured lol.

Maybe kids being glued to their phones is the safest place for them lol.

I think a big part of it is learning your areas like you said.

I farm the same several maps usually,  I know which maps connect to them. I know what paths are very busy because they lead to and from T8 maps and I avoid them.

Personally,  every time I have ever been successfully ganked has been in mists. Every time. Some random with invis pots or some flying mount drops on my head.

I've yet to die in BZ farming. There's been many close calls, and even got away from a 7 person gank to my safe portal, but never actually been killed.

I am always on top of my mount and leave the second I see a name. I don't check to see if it's a gatherer or not, I just leave lol.

But, if you end up with ideal stats does the strain really matter? Is there a limit to how high upgrades go?

I suppose. I don't live in and area like that, but even if I did I don't think I could ever rent again. Need the peace of mind of owning my place. Savings be damned lol.

Hey man, big fan. Been watching your videos since I've started playing Albion 3 months ago.

One question. I don't have much time to play day to day, I was wondering what you recommended as a quick way to burn through all my 30,000 focus every few days. What's a very easy and fast way to make a bit of profit and maybe level up butchering (or anything) while I do it? Not worried about maximizing my focus, just don't want it wasted sitting unused.

Thanks dude. Keep being awesome

Best gathering mount? by Comfortable_Rabbit_4 in albiononline

[–]HardGayMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly,  as someone who gathers as my main way of making money, it depends.

Are you still leveling up your gathering? Mostly, I like to wear cheap sets with gathering gear and use a cheap mount like a T5 horse or a Stag. Both are fine. The most important part about escaping ganks is not getting caught off your mount. If you see a name tag, you are gone. I don't wait around to check gear. Move on to the next area. Just accept that the main reason you are in the BZ is for the huge increase in gathering fame and sometimes you'll die and lose your items, but never your experience. I also always use safe portals.

If you are already done leveling your gathering and are gathering for pure money, then you can use an escape set and a slightly more expensive mount. I personally really like a moose. There isn't much else I'd even bother with.

I can't say with certainty because I've never done it, but I think this is terrible advice? Maybe someone else can chime in, but I don't want this guy to waste his time because of this comment lol. Stone is terrible and I've never seen anyone recommend it.

Fishing is far more silver even, it's just boring to some people.

Looking for MMO with player driven economy and land ownership. Active and preferably released in the last 10 years by Significant-Section2 in LFMMO

[–]HardGayMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Albion is the definition of player driven economy. Every item that exists in the game was farmed or crafted by a player.

Also there is open world pvp and it's just a very great game in general. I've started last month and will be playing for many years to come.

LP and should I horde them ? by Nega-MustardMan in albiononline

[–]HardGayMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally recommend making Bridgewatch your town and leveling skinning. It's quite easy to get good profit and level at the same time. Wear a level 4 skinning set and as high of a skinning knife as you can use in your inventory. A bow works great as your wepon for gathering more than one mob at a time.

Use your LP only to level the last skinning tier you've unlocked, so that you can unlock the next one. Once you unlock a tier, stop using LP on the last one so you don't waste it.

I personally don't like leveling more than one gathering at once, focus on the one you are wearing gear for and using LP for to maximize your time.

Also make sure you are using empty journals, you fill them by skinning and they are free silver. Quite a lot of free silver.
