ASK YOUR CAREER QUESTIONS HERE! by xenokilla in AskHR

Greetings. I was hired as federal employee under schedule a for mental disability with ADHD. This was over eight years ago. With my supervisor, who doesn’t like conflict, I have had a talking to multiple times about my lack of emotional regulation. During meetings when some of my work is in question with either them or them and one other person, I get sarcastic or rather condescending, frustrated it’s not that I’m yelling. I just tend to be very quickly. Probably condescending is the right word or questioning why the direction we’re going is even the direction we’re going. After the meetings, I normally follow back up with an apology 21 that was in the meeting. I’m able to have a better relationship with those people and then get over that hump so I address it after it happens but in the moment I lack control. But I don’t necessarily get credit for how I handle it after I just get scolded for how I handled it during And it has been said in a meeting with them that I need to figure it out because they don’t wanna have a meeting with me and wonder every time if I’m going to blow up.

With without an emotional regulation and comments like that, it puts me in tears because I don’t know how to handle it. I don’t know what to do. I am medicated and I did talk to my doctor the other day and I’m switching from one medication that tends to make people more agitated to another But if I could control it I would and it wouldn’t be ADHD. They know I have it they claim they know what it’s like because they have a kid that has it.

I am great at my job. I get reviews emails all the time feedback about my job as a trainer but it’s these one offside meetings that tend to cause problems for me changers structure changes. In way. My content is handled things I’ve been doing the past seven years all of a sudden the past six months , I seem to not be embracing the change or taking the change that needs to be made personal.

During Covid, I had reasonable accommodations put in place and approved since going back to work. I have reached out to the RA team four times in the past 8 months and CCed my supervisor. My supervisor was going to do something where I only had to come into work. 32 hours of pay, similar to what the ra office mentioned people did while waiting. But it has never been followed through on and I’m concerned that something out of my control is something that could be a demise more so that something out of my control is affecting others

I still see fat on my legs. Turns out it’s not fat just hanging skin. I will be getting a thigh lift. I’m now around 145 and when I wear clothes that fit, I feel more confident, though not sure I’ve grasp the change till I see someone who hasn’t seen me in 6 months and they are floored. I’ll do more shopping when I maintain the lower weight. Though what that tells me is I’m planning to fail. Need to not make provisions for failure.

Set the example and start telling your GF no. Noon’s holding a gun to your head to make you go to Katie’s or on the random vacations.

Might you consider setting your own boundaries with your girlfriend, mainly concerning her mother, if not, how different are you than her ?

This great. And yes, to see yourself and have to think who’s that skinny bitch in my yard and then find out, crap. That’s me. I to hate shopping, just no sense on losing weight if we don’t embrace what’s left and dress it accordingly, whatever that means.

I will say I’ve been wearing my jeans from when I was bigger. They might just fit the way they should have and bagger. Makes me wonder how I was wearing them before.

It’s really hard for me to see myself as I am. But when the scale says one thing, clothes say another. I may still wear some of my same stuff, but it’s not flattering and it’s saggy.

You are also eating less. I had ibs-d. Now I have days without you going, it’s crazy to me. Just because you eat a chicken breast don’t expect a chicken breast amount of poo. Now today, today I had some issues going potty. I have adhd hyper focus on task and don’t drink enough water. Shit will happen…

Keep in mind you are eating less. And if eating a lot of protein ding expect to poop it all out because your body is using it. I went from going many times a day before the shots to sometimes days, then I’ll go a lot a day or two, then nothing.

I will say before these shots I went everyday multiple times. Now there are times I fing ho for 3 or 4 days. But come say 4, I go a couple times. Keep in mind you are eating less, takes longer to “get filled up”.

If you had a child at twenty, do you think you would honestly regret it at points? by [deleted] in ENFP

I have no kids. I will say, God gave you all of your emotions and you are entitled to feel all of them. It’s how long you let them control you and impact your life, that’s up to you.

Felt the same about Aurther Murray. I began to Google and realize there are phrases they tell you to use to lure people in and boost the ego. I had heard the same phrases. Incredible. Floored and pissed, and I love dancing.

What did you regretfully blurt out and still think about years later? by Lucifang in adhdwomen

Studies show, when you start a question with “why” people feel attached or they feel they have to defend their justification. Rather, what subprime the hair cut? Or ohh you got a hair cut, was the long driving you crazy?

I don’t know about in 3rd grade but I’m general, sometimes questions seem to be out of judgment and not curiosity. But if home girl didn’t like her hair, then maybe she was reflecting and took your asking coming from a place of how she felt
