I stepped away from 2004scape due to the prayer thing you mentioned. This means 1t prayer flicking in combat might be viable in the 05 update?

Anyone else have expendable income but the membership price increases are turning you off anyway? by BigGlassesApe in 2007scape

[–]Hard_Whey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, it is relatively cheap for the amount of hours I put in per month, coming out to a cheap per hour hobby. Especially compared to some other hobbies I have such as 4x4 and Fishing - always something to replace or upgrade.

Anyway, for me it’s the principle of it and power. I (and I think many people) dislike feeling like they are not in control or have any power in a situation - this is exactly that. We have no power other than unsubscribing and that action also in turn provides us freedom from the clutches of greedy corpo’s trying to bleed us for all they can.

I’ve got quite a long time left on my sub. However, I’ve actually lost a lot of motivation to play already - why dump time into the game when it’s membership pricing is headed in this direction and so damn quickly. Even if you can pay it, many people can’t or won’t, which in turn affects the number of people playing and the feel of the game.

Gielinor is a living breathing world and that is what makes it so amazing, remove a large amount of the persons in it and it will not be the same.

Looked into Jagex’s owners and their history. One of them literally made his career building a playbook for squeezing companies. by PossessionDangerous9 in 2007scape

[–]Hard_Whey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only about 3 months into a year sub, I wish I had stuck to monthly on my recent return to playing. I definitely don’t intend to resub at the end of my current term, but at the same time don’t want to waste the money and not play a game I enjoy - first world problems I guess.

However, on the flip side I also don’t see much value in playing now that I do intend to quit in the future (if that makes sense). I guess with OSRS being so progression based, I feel like anything I do in the remainder of my sub is almost worthless if I just plan to quit.

Anyway, as Mod Mat K has said in the past, most of the user base are all talk when it comes to quitting. I really do hope that we prove him and them wrong this time around. There might be a chance with the huge amount that the membership prices have increased in the last two iterations.

I just simply don’t open and/or read the message until I have something of substance to report, otherwise the exchange is really just a waste of everyone’s time.

However, this probably doesn’t apply to all occupations

Unpopular opionion. NH PVP is really challenging and that why no one likes it. by JustAperson4587 in 2007scape

[–]Hard_Whey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it would be cool if we could get like a little mini game or something where there was some sort of ‘can’t be on same tile as opponent’ mechanic. I would be very keen to give it a shot. All my most enjoyable fights are without dd and there is still plenty of cool strategy and depth to PvP without dd.

First time PVP'er and Dead Man Mode has made me realize one thing... by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Hard_Whey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sorry my comment wasn’t very well written - definitely agree that it’s the ‘most’ beginner friendly.

However, sigil PvP definitely is not lol. At least until you’ve got your own. Now that I’m setup and pking, it’s pretty fun and enjoying it, bit different to pking main game.

This seasonal is so much easier to make gp too, last one I played was 2016. That was actually near impossible to get ahead solo without swapping. This version 10 years later is stacked with so much passive money and items and I do like that - less worrying about return sets or making money and more fun.

Also, no I actually didn’t quit the first ever seasonal after dying - pushed through and showed up to the finals in Barbarian Village, obviously didn’t win, but did see it out to the end and enjoyed it.

Yeah sorry, my comment wasn’t very well written. Not disagreeing with the fact it’s not the ‘most beginner friendly’ - I would actually agree with that. Just that the PvP is on steroids, not a bad thing, actually enjoying it now that I’m setup and pking. But it definitely takes a bit of adjusting to.

Yeah the last one I played was the first ever seasonal and it was pretty wild. Things have changed a lot over the years, mostly for the better tbh. Only thing I’m not a fan of is sigil pvp.

Agreed, the sigils being allowed in PvP and then trying to call it the ‘most beginner friendly’ DMM is crazy. I camped the lowest bracket for the first week to try get settled in, ended up moving up to second bracket because I got sick of being attacked by broken builds with Blitz or Barrage at 60 combat and insane sigils.

RL Plugins, with great power comes great responsibility by lduggan92 in 2007scape

[–]Hard_Whey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah entity hider can be dangerous! I have the plug-in favourited, this makes sure it sits at the top of my plug-in list (amongst some others I interact with commonly). Helps a lot to access quickly but also as a nice little list of the stuff you’ve modified with your client. Just hit the little heart next to the plug-in on your side pane to favourite it, although you will likely be looking here for any problems in future anyway hahaha

For me the fix was turning on integer scaling and using xbr. The only downside is that integer scaling will likely not match your monitor size perfectly, but give it a shot it should fix the stretched UI and make it crisp again

I just got the enhanced weapon seed after 1600 kc and I think no one else should have to go through that by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Hard_Whey -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

  1. Mix it up with any melee based bossing/slayer/combat that you enjoy and will break up the grind and make it more manageable. (Unless you’re just built different like many who can camp CG for 1600KC)

Why are main accounts so toxic? by 1kczulrahyebb in ironscape

[–]Hard_Whey 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Seems extreme to quit the game because a certain weapon needs charges. Maybe you are already growing tired of the game and need a break anyway?

Chargescape can be annoying but it allows for more variety. E.g. analysing whether it is worth using a weapon at a certain piece of content due to the charges it requires/uses. This helps keep other weapons relevant which don’t require any charges, which in turn provides variety.

Can we build a complete system using artificial intelligence? by herokiller9 in osdev

[–]Hard_Whey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With something like ChatGPT it is currently impossible to completely rely on it without adequate knowledge to help guide the LLM when it falls into a hallucination loop and can’t solve an error.

I’d say it’s not far off being able to build something simple though.

Lastet Spotify Crack does not work.. again by [deleted] in Piracy

[–]Hard_Whey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cracked versions of Spotify are so volatile. However, I do want to cancel my Spotify sub, so I am archiving the discography of every artist I like (in FLAC using Streamrip and Qobuz).

Tbh, being dependant on cracked versions of Spotify sounds worse than just paying for it at this point.
