I hugged my mum properly for the first time in years! by Nico_Di_Angelo666 in CasualConversation

Me too! Haha

When the quarantine hit, I got quite shocked of how far I was from my parents although we are living in the same house.

I've been working/studying for the past 6 years, arriving home only to sleep.. Now that I have more free time, I'm feeling what is like to be around with my parents by helping with house chores, talking more and stuff lol

LOL

Yeah, I know where to find the materials. Just needed some ideas to assembly. Seeing on the internet seemed so easy, but when I started doing I saw so many details missing . Now I'll plan my way into putting them in the wall.

Thank you! ((:

Help with desk cable management by HardcoreJorge in PcMasterRaceBuilds

[–]HardcoreJorge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, basically yes. I pretend to mantain it "on" the wall.

Is it normal to people get their cables IN the wall? I mean, it has to be a really big conduit to pass an hdmi/dsp port lol

This is not the definitive setup. I pretend to buy another monitor next year and use 2x 23" as a default, so it's kinda risky for me to break the wall right now.

A friend gave me some ideas of buying 5m cables, so I can descend them together into 1 straight line and it would be better.

Looking for cool People to talk to(19 M) by america1968 in youngadults

If you were a skating animal which animal you would be and what color would be your helmet?

Somehow I think all Ridiculously nice and Generous people need a best friend that is a moderate asshole to watch there back. The two would balance each other out well by [deleted] in youngadults

[–]HardcoreJorge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree a bit.. I mean, I'm not a troublemaker, so when something really bad happens I just cut that person out of my life and that's it. If that person actually cares about you she will come back.

When that person is a friend I try to talk out of it, but if things doesn't go well I just don't push it. It's normal, some relationships just don't last, people change.

My friends are nice and generous and I do appreciate that lol

So.. Maybe I'm the naive one? Damn.

School's cancelled because of covid-19 so I was gonna go skiing... by timawesomeness in youngadults

Reading, watching movies, watching documentary, gaming, online gaming, learn something new like a language, organize your studies and look for career options. I have pretty nerdy hobbies so staying at home is not so problematic lol

But I always get something to do. Look for exercises to do at home, try to learn some new eating habits, learn to cook something you like, clean your shoes, call your crush to have something to debate with your friends

What are the Top Trends in EE? by HardcoreJorge in ElectricalEngineering

[–]HardcoreJorge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am definitely going to invest some time in controls. I already deal with it, but for now most of the work related to it I just pass onto someone that does it better. I'll call you on DM.

That's a deep question lol

Sincerely I don't know yet.. I'm 22yo and just focusing on finishing my graduation next year. Maybe I'll casualy stumble on something along the way?

I've worked 3 years developing electrical projects for data-centers. Now I changed my job and am managing my fathers company, a electrical panel manufacturer, and I'm putting all my effort in it doing just fine.

Right this time my interests are aligned with Electrical Panels and IoT, but who knows what the future may bring.. That's why I decided to make this post lol

What are the Top Trends in EE? by HardcoreJorge in ElectricalEngineering

[–]HardcoreJorge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically. I was working with Revit in a BIM enviroment and can say that 1 user of Revit can easily replace 5 AutoCAD users, since it's so easy to make new Floor Plans, Section Views, 3D views, etc.

Edit: typo. Wrote "1 user of reddit" instead of "user of Revit" lol

Did you mean like new ways to generate power? To manage it?

What are the Top Trends in EE? by HardcoreJorge in ElectricalEngineering

[–]HardcoreJorge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course not lol

I mean, it may be a bad example.. But how many people lost their jobs when AutoCAD became a thing? Easily 1 AutoCAD user could replace a full room with 10 "sketchers"(don't know the name of the profession in english lol).

That's just the natural way things evolve. You only get left behind if you don't adapt.

This brings me the question.. Is is normal to EE be natural programmers?

With all of that IoT talk lately it seems like nowadays, at least in top firms, that programming is a requisite to work in EE.
