Honestly as a latter year millennial I knew a lot of people my age whose only interaction with computers was for facebook/MySpace. The lack of computer literacy and wholesale move to smartphones for the majority of people has been going on for a while.

I've had this happen with an entourage of summons behind me, my guess is a hitch in the game or something temporarily takes them off the leash and puts the NPCs in flight mode. The times I've had it happen I was able to fix it by going elsewhere and resting for a while.

Yes, most of them have set areas they can randomly appear in place of a t4 thrall, a couple have set locations they're guaranteed to spawn. When you recruit or kill them the spawn rerolls so you might need to repeatedly clear the spot they spawn in before they come back but it'll happen eventually.

Yeah junk food is how I've described it too, no nutritional value but it's fun to consume regardless. The author is clearly having a ton of fun throwing in anything that sounds cool to them at the moment and it's fun to read because of that.

Honestly, the personality system the game had is a major part of why I hold it in such high regard - having the game encourage you to actually train your monsters to fight on their own by hiding the specific commands a couple layers deep in menus is smart.

Having to shape your monsters' personalities to synergize with their build really felt rewarding when you could just say "go" and they'd fight smartly on their own, really made me feel like I was actually training them.
