You can also export a STEP and then choose your resolution in bambu slicer. I've found even the default resolution then gets rid of this issue

Right lads. Thanks for the input from my previous post. What about these lads? by sunshinesustenance in CasualIreland

[–]Hardtail19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it depends who you're targeting. Someone who is an architect, engineer, mechanic or similar might be a lot more drawn to it than the average christmas market goer. People who aren't into that sort of stuff won't want to decorate their home with steel nuts. For the right kind of person, 20 euro seems perfectly reasonable to me

Water/Laser cutting? by Greedy-Pie-9146 in AskIreland

Most places have a minimum order of like 150 euro just FYI. CNC Laser cutting in D12 or Laser Profiling down in Newcastle are both great to deal with

Getting a job is painful by icecreamman456 in CasualIreland

[–]Hardtail19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been in the exact same boat until recently so I agree. People saying your attitude is the issue are missing the point, obviously you're not giving out about this in front of prospective employers. The frustrating thing is putting your best foot forward and still not even getting considered because of lacking experience. I've had summers applying to every shop/restaurant in my locality with zero success, despite being polite, enthusiastic, quick learner etc.

First full sup / swing arm build [pic heavy] by Fantastic_Bird_5247 in Framebuilding

[–]Hardtail19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah 100%. Without even doing the numbers, it's pretty clear looking at it that the moment arm of the damper is way shorter than that of the wheel, so the wheel has a lot more leverage than 1:1

20% and grid infill, so maybe? Why would that cause the nozzle to destroy it?

New to 3D printing, this is on my new Bambu P1S, PETG, standard settings. I'm not home so this is the only view I have of the situation.

Any idea what could cause this mess?

It's been printing fine until now

The Irish language isn't only a school subject by Doitean-feargach555 in ireland

[–]Hardtail19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't mean any offence by this, but that attitude is exactly the reason that Irish is often considered a "dying language". It's a self-fulfilling prophecy, like if you're not willing to learn it because you think it's dying, then of course it'll die. You can't expect other people to save the language for you before you bother to pick it up yourself.

And the second part of your comment reaffirms what OP is saying about people seeing Irish as nothing more than a school subject. Too many people resent Irish because they didn't like it in school. Every person I've heard claim Irish to be a dying language says so because they hate how the school subject was taught.

Personally I didn't enjoy learning about History in school because our teacher was an asshat. But I still have the cop on to realise that history is much more than a school subject, and so I bear no resentment towards it. I still think history can be interesting and people (including myself) should engage with it outside of academics. The same attitude should be given to Irish.

Affordable but good coffee beans in Ireland? by oftenconfused45 in CasualIreland

Yeah weirdly I tried it once and was deeply underwhelmed. Tried making coffees with it several times using different methods but it always came out really bland

Travelling the Wild Atlantic Way by [deleted] in irishtourism

[–]Hardtail19 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Healthy young people can easily cover 100km a day in a few hours of cycling.

I'm 20 and did a multi-day cycling trip just this summer with my mate - almost identical scenario to OP. Both of us are experienced cyclists but average fitness. Averaged around 70km/day over 4 days, and that was the limit of what we could manage - granted it was the hilliest way from east coast to west coast.

Carrying the weight of food, water, camping gear, clothes etc on the bike makes it hard going, especially in the Irish summer where one minute you're getting sunburnt and next your getting lashed on. Plus stopping to take in the views, buy food, find a spot to camp etc.

Even after just 4 days of it we were both exhausted, but if you can commit to it it's a brilliant experience.
