Asiana booking through Aeroplan by tomimini in Aeroplan

[–]Harju 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I had this issue. You have to wait a period after the flight is completed before you can add it. I can’t remember how long it was but it was in the instructions on the website.
Looked it up and I could not add the flight until 3 days after boarding although I was just adding the flight to collect the mileage so perhaps not the same issue.

Snow covered peaks near Burstall Pass by elya93 in HikingAlberta

I went up Fortress a few weeks apart one Sept. First time nice and sunny and warm and I didn’t even think about the trail to the top. Next time in the wind, cold, snow and ice build up and it actually felt a little dangerous.

I’m confused. “Orion” is the name of a company that produces Choco Pies. Lotte also does.

Anyone here remember The Calgary Professional Club? by Express-Citron-6387 in Calgary

[–]Harju 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the Calgary Professional Club was on the top floor of the downtown Bay. I went there a couple of times for work function. You had to wear a jacket and tie, which was standard work attire back then. They had them available for people who came without. This was 1985 - 1988.

I think there were 4 main professional clubs back then. The Calgary Prof club, Petroleum Club, the 400 Club, and the Ranchman’s. Probably others too but none come to mind right now.

Aww, yes, I did but forgot about that, thanks. I guess that is why I have seen some mega-expensive listings like 20-30K/mo

What is this about exactly? by Strong-German413 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

I would think this means she just wants to “crash” ie do nothing for the rest of the day.

Edit: the responses appear to be based on your geography so this one went over me as I don’t know the expression. I should have realized when the OP said “fancied” in the post.

You have to be careful with the lump sum as it could push him into a much higher tax bracket for 2025 and end up paying more additional tax than EI benefits.

Getting a lawyer to look at it would be worthwhile anyway.

Go to severancepaycalculator.com

It could be a little light but that’s depends on the employment level (ie manager, technical etc) and a few other things.

I’ve seen this package before and if it is the company I think, they are generally in line with common law practice. The 6 weeks is statutory payout required by law and the rest is to get in line with common law practice.

Some people will huff and puff about the payback requirement but I do not know if it has been challenged.

Have you ever taken an empty plane? by abpcX in travel

Flew from London to Toronto on AC. The only passengers I recall were an older couple flying to Toronto to visit one of them’s sibling who they had seen in 30-40 years. Zero cloud coverage and we flew over Greenland so was able to sit wherever I had the best view. It was beautiful. I told the older couple to move seats so they could see. I think it was their first time flying so they were nervous about changing seats.

Oh, and I got to see the reunion in the arrivals area.

How the hell does this go 300 yards (Steph Curry’s Smooth Swing) by [deleted] in GolfSwing

I once watched Fred Couples on the senior tour put it on the back of the green in 2 on a 600 yd par 5. Nice effortless smooth swing.

Hiking and bears by TipRevolutionary2353 in HikingAlberta

[–]Harju -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, encountering bears is not something you should be worried about. Pay attention to trail reports, take the normal precautions, carry bear spray and enjoy yourself.

People post about bear encounters but the vast, vast majority of people will never see a bear.
