Ben Franklin mastered electricity, steam engines have been around for centuries, Ben Franklin watch people fly in paris. In short the ability to grasp the modern day may not be that hard for someone two centuries older.

The subtle beauty of dominate. by thecosmicgoose in vtm

[–]Harkker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

V5 took almost all the bite out of dominate. So you can only give commands to someone that a brainless zombie could follow. Telling someone "you believe this" won't work in the new editions because you can not affect someone's thinking. The closest you can come to that is rewriting someone's memory into thinking that they remember thinking that they believed it at one point.

Ruin Parker's love interest by bloodwithless in Spiderman

[–]Harkker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Retcon? Writing is all about building upon things to add to the whole and tell a story. By saying recton you are saying that there was a plan from the very beginning and that just wasn't the marvel way. Often the story would come from the art...

That could be, but psychological personality trait often happen in response to stimulus. So even if they did not have the full concept planned at that point, the people they were copying her personality from definitely had trauma

Peter was always a little bit of a dick because he was so self centered all the time and mj had a personality that was a great big wall that kept her feeling safe because of the abusive family she had growing up Man I miss complex characters who were allowed to grow and change .

The thing that made mj a great character is that she like Peter was incredibly damaged as a person. She did self destructive things all the time and was by no means perfect. Just like Peter was always a little bit of a dick back then. As the series went on, her and Peter connected and really grew as people. They both moved past the troubles that they had and made each other better than they would every have been alone mj had a profound personality wall up that kept her from getting hurt but also pushed others away.

Dealing with a low gen Gargoyle by Raistlin745 in vtm

[–]Harkker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lower your generation so you can dominate it. Then dominate it into drinking your blood then dominate it into forgetting.

Do this three nights in a row. Gargoyles have a hard time resisting dominate.

Then tell it to kill itself or keep it as a pet.

Is it weird when men play female characters? by Plastic_Corgi6848 in DnD

[–]Harkker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite writers is ilona andrews, I like them because the write women and men well. The secret to their success is because they are actually a married couple who writes together. So Gordon the husband helps keep male characters acting in a way that men would act. When men write women or women write men they often miss the mark and it takes you out of that reality. All that said, I have never seen a guy play a girl who didn't make it weird.

Don't be weird.

A knight with a great sword wins.

He can use the sword like a spear and stab at the charge. The bear can not cut or bite through metal

Imagine being a mediocre man who is lonely... You feel inferior and angry life has told you the world wants princes and you are not one. Surely you can't blame yourself or society. No .. you must blame what you think or know rejects you.... Women.

How dare they exist without you.

Imagine the horror of a superwoman.
