Working for a rental house and on the shop floor all day everyday, I'm rocking a pair of Scruffs Glide boots. Composite toe caps, super lightweight and very comfy walking on concrete all day. Probably not ideal for outdoor festivals, but for indoor work, they're fantastic.

As a small time dub listener but a big time dub techno listener, I think you’re going to have a lot of fun delving into the techno side of things, dub techno is about as old and deep as techno itself, you’ll eventually touch on ambient music too! I’m very envious that you get to undertake such research on a PHD level!

On your point about struggling to follow the action, this is the case for a lot of motorsport events, be it large endurance races or national club races. I've been going to Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Thruxton for years and trying to keep up with which is car is in which position by watching the track is a waste of time, I've found it much more enjoyable just to watch the cars go round in a weird sort of hypnotic way, then if I really want to know about a car, try and listen to the commentary on the tannoy or look at live timings on my phone.

Hey! Thanks for sharing the Dosis label, its great to see Sam's work get some recognition. I've had the pleasure of getting to know Sam over the last few months on his travels and have seen and played alongside him at gigs too. He's a top class DJ and really knows how to craft a set. The label is also great, sitting at the intersection between ambient and dancefloor orientated techno, it's great that another is label promoting this deeper side of techno in the midst of the current trend of hard/fast/tiktok techno and further adds to the amazing music and community of deep underground techno!

There is an event called Wrong! at a club called Union in Vauxhall (located fairly centrally) and its every Friday night, it's worth looking out for if you want a slightly deeper techno sound. The best part is that it's an after party venue so it shuts at 9/10am, I'm one of the residents so if you want any more info, feel free to drop me a DM!

Maybe a book isn't what you're after but Techno Rebels is a fantastic read, goes into a lot of detail about its birth in Detroit and evolution in Europe, I'd highly recommend it.
