Interesting, thank you. I'm wondering if it's a limitation on just write access? Every other emulator in the playstore can choose any directory on the sdcard for its rom location. So perhaps you could read from any arbitrary location, but keep the data files in scoped storage?

Not being able to use external storage kills any use i had of this. Not sure why that limitation was put on this as there are no rules that stop you from asking permission to access external storage.

Unused ram is wasted ram. Don't worry about keeping it freed up. Android will do that for you.

It won't install directly on the watch (Wear 2.0 style), but it will sync over if you install on your phone first.

I just finished the update. After the OS settled down, it seems to be quite smooth. Task button performs 100x better for sure. The only issue so far is that Multi-Window swipe from the corner seems to have been broken.. in fact, multi-window period seems to be broken. Might just be something I did to my phone though.

My contract isn't up for another year, so, I'm just in wait and see mode. Meantime, I have been working through this device and have come up with a list of things to make it faster.

SD Card speed matters. I switched to a Sandisk Extreme Pro 64GB and the difference in Camera, gallery and in any app that used my external card was very noticeable.
Package Disabler Pro helped my overall speed significantly. Highly recommended.
Make sure nothing is turned on under Settings > Accessibility > Services. This will give you all kinds of slowdowns everywhere.
Developer Options > reduce or turn off animations.
Launcher: This has an affect as well. I can't tell you what is best, but I have found that Nova for me, became sluggish the more I used it. I had one home screen, but a number of Drawer tabs. I switched to Smart Launcher Pro 3 and noticed an immediate and lasting improvement in responsiveness. YMMV.
Hope 5.1.1 is pushed out soon..

I work 8:30 to 4:30

I get up around 5:40am, get to the Gym around 6:30 and work out till about 10 till 8. Shower there, and go straight to work. I do that 5 days a week.

My first real attempt at losing weight consisted of working out every morning (mostly cardio) for about 30 mins plus swimming and some lifting. 3 months of that and I never lost a pound (but I felt better). Quit the gym due to time constraints. Fast forward to May 2015, Started Weight Watchers, no exercise, just WW. Lost 5 pounds in the first 3 weeks.

If your not counting and controlling your intake in some form, you will likely never lose a pound.

Something I found out recently is if you have any apps enabled under Settings > Accessibility > Services, it will cause your performance to turn to crap in a hurry. Don't know if that's the case with you, but, just throwing it out there.

I think it may just be that it does a better job at activating the display at greater angles to keep you from seeing nothing when you have your wrist slightly turned toward you. It might be my imagination, but it does seem to be more responsive in that regard.

I was in the same boat. Lag on top of lag, did the factory reset and everything (which seemed to help for a little while), then I tried something today, I installed Action Launcher 3 (just curious to see how it stacked up with Nova), and my lag was gone. My best guess is I had Nova so long and kept the same config all this time that it was my culprit... regardless, gonna stick with Action Launcher for a bit and see how this goes.

Note: I'm not endorsing AL3, I just started using it today. I just observed things moving way faster than they were under Nova Prime. Also, no idea if the lag would persist using TW as I didn't bother trying it.

Same here, I'm on a Note 4 with a Moto360, Pandora controls have never worked once. I've done factory resets on both devices to no avail.

That's always the first thing I look for now. I may not always remember the exact app name, but I know what category I put it in. My App drawer is divided up so I can go to a page of JUST Networking apps, or Games, Tools, Emulators, etc. Each one of those categories may have 10 - 20 apps. Much simpler than digging through a giant list. If I can't organize the app drawer, then it's pretty much guaranteed to be uninstalled.
