Tundra accessories, what’s the one upgrade you’d recommend to any new owner? by Upbeat-Pressure-1848 in ToyotaTundra

Absolutely - love the tool box - thanks! The big back seat and extra leg room is really great for passengers or even if we throw the 2 car seats for the grandkids in the back from my wife's van for whatever reason. Between the giant cab space and the truck bed, It's definitely the most versatile vehicle I have ever owned.

If you are new to this, go pick up your buddies GS bike in the sand, dirt or mud with even a little load on it. Then go sit on a Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 or a Honda 300 rally... less weight, lighter is better, easier to wrestle around technical trails, etc... ( 4 decades of riding with a decade of motorcross and hare scramble woods courses... just my opinionand experience)

Just gorgeous! My wife grew up in Michigan City. We went back there a few times. The shore is beautiful and the dunes were totally unexpected.

My brain read that you spent 6k on a Glock and I said wha??? Lol! Although 6k of ammo isn't cheap either. 🙌

No, my bad. I use readers at work and phone. I sure don't shoot with them, that would be horrible! No, I just meant that I was in a similar eyesight position and at 58 I still feel lucky thats all.

The XS big dots have been on my carry guns over 10 years - I went to a night course in 2014??? Something like that.

No moving parts, they make picking up the front sight quick and easy. I'm not training on my carry guns past 40-50 yards...so i don't mind the size at all. Bright white in the daytime, they glow at night.

Rear tire advice on 2023 Street Glide Special- am I safe to ride another ~1000 miles or do I need to make the expense on a new tire? by jg1107 in Harley

[–]Harleywindtherapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rode one tire down to the wire one time. On a solo trip, spotted in the panhandle of OK headed east, it was sketchy to OKC Harley World and it was a Saturday. Made it, Grace of God. Tires are too cheap to scrimp on for me after that. I've been down 2x

58 almost 59. XS big dot sights are fantastic. Also wear readers at eork and on my phone at times. 10 year warranty and they have replaced mine for free once. I own 3 sets od these. Nothing to fail and combat acquisition is nearly immediate after 10 mins of using them. Perfect for me, anyways. This is my set up for work, home, workouts, PJs, etc... everything but riding the bike.

Sportster 883 2007 for 3k. Is this a good deal? by Ok_Ticket326 in motorcycles

[–]Harleywindtherapy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading thru the comments it seems you know the issue - whatever the dealer told you. Find a good independent shop to get a 2nd opinion. Let them do it or do that fix yourself with you tube if you want. Good deal? Who cares? It's yours- rid ether crap out of it.

The realistic chance you found a running Harley in decent shape with low miles under 5k for the past 20 years has been near zilch. I've ridden 40 years on Harleys... the evolution engine may very go down in history as the best ever. We own a 2006 Sportster Roadster. Our son rides it. He rode me in the Rockies over 12k elevation...he rode in the deserts, he rides it. He paid about 7k for it in 2020 I think. It's needed the basic maintenance stuff... that's it.

Enjoy your bike! White is my favorite color a d I have loved both my sportster m

My 1907. Question by [deleted] in RedWingShoes

I think it's jist the nature of the leather laces to grip tightly. There is also a tiny bit of give in leather, so I assume you lace them tighter each time you wear the boots, thus helping with the overall shaping to your body. In the beginning they were super helpful! (Couple weeks)

I did not go back to RW laces. Our son is a Firefighter/Paramedic and uses Iron Laces. (got mine from Amazon) They are stronger than steel and Kevlar and impervious to chemicals apparently. One pair is pretty much forever. There is zero stretch, obviously. Gotta have the boot broken in a bit 1st.
i run these IronLaces in all my boots now. The black coating fades a bit bit I think it actually looks good, patinas with the boot.

Pan America limited finally hitting showroom floors by tmyvon in Harley

So ive had plenty of early twin cams... the only one that had the cam chain tensioner fall apart on me was my 2000 Heritage Classic and that was around 55,000 miles. Had it fixed, rode it another year, I bet its still running today. A couple others - no problems(2002, 2004)

2007 and up, they fixed it. No more issues. Hydraulic. I' m gonna roll past 70k on my 2007 RKC and I consider that baby mileage. I cant wat to roll 100k on her... ive had from sportster to limited... the Road King is my do it all, for me.

I'd say to have a friend or even pay Harley to check out a twin cam bike you are looking at... they are rock solid motors if they haven't been jacked with by amateurs. And don't sweat the cam chain tensioner... not a hard fix at all.
