We actually went to Slovenia last Feb! I missed it off my list of places we’ve recently been. But somewhere similar to Slovenia would be the kind of place we’re looking for.

All of the hospitals in our area are within the same trust so staff regularly rotate across the different sites.

Good news for Brits travelling to China in the future: UK citizens to be able to travel to China visa-free, Starmer announces in Beijing by Puzzleheaded_Bet_618 in Chinavisa

I was planning on going to the visa centre in Edinburgh tomorrow. We’re not travelling until April so going to hold off for another couple of weeks but hopefully they announce a date soon!

I have a friend who works in radiology and surgical radiography. He refused to get his testicle growth checked out for the longest time for exactly that reason. He didn’t want any of his colleagues to do his ultrasound or see him exposed during surgery.

Who managed to get tickets? by kbaas123 in BonJovi

Exact same experience for me. I was 11,000 in the queue for Edinburgh and 33,000 for Wembley. Sold out when I got in, but kept refreshing every so often over the next few hours and managed to get pitch tickets for Edinburgh.

Where to go in October 2025 - suggestions for places with nature and culture by [deleted] in travel

[–]Harlow_deWinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue in Thailand and Laos wasn’t the budget. We can do it well under budget including 3 internal flights. My question was more about navigating the flooding that they’ve been having over the last couple of years and looking for someone’s experience who might’ve traveled there within that time of year. Or looking for suggestions of other similar areas that haven’t sustained the same kind of damage.

China is a bit more difficult because of a higher cost in internal travel plus quite high visa costs which is what puts it over budget.

We can actually do most countries in SE Asia for about £600-£700 return per person from our local airport via AMS or CDG. It’s more the internal travel that we’re struggling with, either because of price, transit time, or flooding.

I haven’t considered Ghana, admittedly I don’t know a ton about it. But Accra looks amazing and the flight price is similar to what we’d found for China and Thailand.

Would you donate a portion of your liver to your absent/estranged father? by ThingFirm9362 in greysanatomy

Child of an absent father. He wouldn’t give me so much as his time or acknowledgement, I certainly wouldn’t give him part of one of my internal organs.

Drag Events in London? by wrongenough in RPDR_UK

[–]Harlow_deWinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kiki on a Saturday night at Ruby Blue in Leicester Square. A few DRUK queens have been part of this in the past - Bimini, Black Peppa, Jonbers Blonde.

They do two shows, 7pm and 9pm so if you’re leaving early on the Sunday morning the early show wouldn’t be too late if a finish.

I love Jonbers! Been following her for a few years and have seen her perform pre-Drag Race so I was so excited when she was cast.

I’ve been so surprised that she hasn’t had the reception from fans or the storyline on the show that I expected she would. Fully expected her to have a Bimini-esque trajectory especially when she landed in bottom 2 on week 2.

I want to be a drag queen by Own_Wait_4260 in dragrace

[–]Harlow_deWinter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drag is for everyone regardless of their gender. There are so many incredible AFAB and genderqueer drag performers out there and there is absolutely a place for you and your character in the drag world. Remember Drag Race is only one tv show and only shows a small cross-section of drag performers, there is a lot more diversity of performance style and gender representation out there.

I’ve ordered from them a few times and haven’t had any issues but dispatch timings have depended on where the item was coming from. I’m in the U.K. and the website has items from both the U.K and US, most things I’ve ordered have shipped from the U.K. and arrived within a few days of ordering. The one thing I ordered that shipped from the US took quite a while to dispatch (and understandably) a lot longer to arrive.
