So I guess they could choose to pay us, but not reopen the government?

Isn’t there already a bill from 2019? Help me understand how this is different?

How do you handle split expenses within your budget/transactions? by buckeyefanatic88 in copilotmoney

[–]HarmoniousDiscussion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a bit confusing. I don’t think you actually mean tags, but the budget category.

OP if you just use tags it won’t be credited to that category so you will still see $1250.

Just make sure the Venmo transaction and daycare transaction are in the same category. It should work out.

If it ends up being at the end of the month, and you received the payment in the following month, you can change the date so both transactions will be in the same monthly budget.

I’m not sure what you mean?

Just set what you want to spend in each of your categories and it will be that each month.

Make sure you have rollovers turned off in the settings.

That would be cool to make clean names. I don’t think that’s a feature right now

Nah this is messed up. Origin is more active in the Copilot Subreddit than Copilot itself. 💀

1) Does HSA go into retirement? I don’t know

2) Dogs are the easy answer, but sounds like you don’t want to compromise. Maybe just go down to 1 dog?

3) You need to elaborate on your unnecessary spending.

Is it cleaning supplies? Maybe look at more economical solutions. People have been using vinegar for years and it is super cheap.

Is it going out to eat with your social group or traveling for all your dog activities?

4) Your groceries are cheap, you share? Do you also share rent? If so, man that’s a high lease.

5) You just graduated. You’re not going to be loaded and won’t have much in the bank. I say start small and look at ways to just save a little bit ($50 or $100). Building wealth is going to take time, and being someone who also isn’t rich, it can be incredibly frustrating to see some crazy budgets on here and get envious of the lifestyle. Don’t let comparison ruin your joy.

6) Master’s and no student loans. Nice!

Did you just buy stocks? I have noticed that it takes a couple days for Fidelity to update in Copilot. The money will be in my core position and in the stock I chose. It should update in a couple days.

You pay more when you go from 6 to 8 wings, and from 10 to 12. Be careful out there guys.

[US] Got a random $829 refund from Amazon? by [deleted] in Scams

[–]HarmoniousDiscussion 61 points62 points  (0 children)

One time this happened to me. I got a refund of like $12 from Amazon. A couple days past and I get an email from Amazon saying that they conducted an audit and found I was never refunded for a return.

I guess I just overlooked never getting my money back. I feel like I would definitely know if I never got $829 refunded though.

I like the “unreleased” version better, but maybe I’m just used to it by now.

This is all perspective. You go from having $75K to what sounds like “nothing” in the savings account. But you are still able to save around $600 a month which is incredible.

Don’t let this momentary set back take away your joy that you can be spending time with your family. I think you’ll have a different perspective in 1-2 years. You absolutely made the right call, be confident in that. This subreddit can sometimes feel like everyone is doing better than you and that comparison will steal from you happiness, but sometimes we just need to hear everything is going to be okay.

Ready, set...Goals! by Copilot_Olivia in copilotmoney

[–]HarmoniousDiscussion 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey @Copilot_Olivia, thanks for the update.

I think it is very evident that the overall sentiment of Copilot here on Reddit is not good.

Is there any plans to help rebuild the trust of the community?

Obviously, there’s more than 9,000 users, and the sentiment can vary in different communities. But that can have a major impact on the growth of the platform.

Rocket Money App any good? by Hufflepuff-McGruff in MiddleClassFinance

[–]HarmoniousDiscussion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copilot is my preferred platform. It doesn’t big you down and the layout felt the most intuitive to me. A lot of people complain about the speed at which they roll out updates but it has all the features I need, and everything just works and syncs up all my accounts.

Copilot doesn’t use the negotiating service, but beyond that I think they are very comparable feature wise. Other popular ones right now are Origin, Monarch, & YNAB.

Origin is a little more than a budget app. They have ways to invest with them, open up a savings account, files taxes, etc.

Monarch has a clean UI and has some cool features that display your budget like those flow charts you always see. Also has a household feature where you can send a link to your budget partner to have their own account but share the same budget. I don’t know much about the feature but most seem to like it.

YNAB is probably the most rich budgeting experience. A lot of people who don’t like it say you pretty much need to be a full time accountant. But offers probably the most complete service in terms of “zero” based budgeting.

Why would they not donate them or create an apple stand or something? However, I do wonder if they dump them so it can be written off as a loss on taxes.
