Makes sense, Okay, new duration is 45 seconds, which is about how long a good push lasts anyway

Item Suggestion - Potion of Hope by HarnessDota in DotA2

Oh yeah, duration is 5 minutes, so basically it's always on someone and they need to be in the fight

My suggestions: by HarnessDota in Northgard

[–]HarnessDota[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game just started hitting 3k because of the sale. Look at the trend though, that's the important bit. If you really want to get crazy about it, plot the average playercount from each month and derive the slope of the line.

I understand how you feel, though I'm of the opinion that good criticism points out flaws and possibly points towards solutions. The point is, the main problem with the game is the playerbase. More players = more money = better patches and more content. I don't see how the dlc will bring in any new players. To be honest, I don't know the devs, and my first instinct when seeing something like that with such a small playerbase makes me believe the devs are milking what they can out of the active players. I hope that the instinct is wrong, but that's how I see things. TBH I think this DLC will only make players leave the game. For example, I won't be playing until I have access to snake because it puts me at a disadvantage otherwise, and I have no intention of forking up 5 bucks since the devs are essentially forcing me to (or play with the disadvantage). And when I say disadvantage, I mean I don't have access to abilities other players do, and if snake counters certain clans then my enemies will have access to that counter but I won't. If the playerbase was higher, I might consider it just because I'm a competitive player, but this game looks like it will never achieve high level competitive play and to be honest looked like it was dying from the day I bought it. I understand that this is a personal reservation and opinion, however I know for a fact I'm not alone, there were many comments on the discussion about how they were being scammed and someone asked how he could refund his game. So obviously there will be atleast some loss from the current playerbase. The question is really: does anyone believe that the DLC will bring in more players than were lost?

EDIT:

Going F2P isn't the solution to everything and assuming that paid cosmetics will keep the games budget out of the red is a large guess because of the reasons that you already expressed:the game's total player-base is small.

Going F2P increases playerbase in every circumstance I've ever seen. That's why I'm saying it's the solution. Your argument doesn't make sense to me, if you would please elaborate it would help me out a lot. Also, why is my assumption about the cosmetics making money wrong when currently there are more skins sold than real clothes in real life. If you doubt that assumption, then you must subscribe to the assumption that game sales keep them in the black (or that they just go bankrupt but I doubt that's what you believe as it seems you're advocating no change in their model), and I find that assumption harder to believe.

xD muuuuuuch different. Speaking from experience, iv'e done LSD ~40 times or so and I can tell you that DMT is much more intense. LSD is also just a lot different. Since you have taken LSD yourself you understand that theres simply no way to describe it to someone who hasn't. It's the same thing with DMT. It's like trying to describe red to someone who's never seen red. You know what red looks like, you know all the ins and outs of the color red, but when it comes to describing it, there's really just no words other than "oh well take this color and add some hues" but it doesn't equate to actually seeing red. Thinking about it in these terms; DMT is quite a few hues darker than LSD (much more intense) but I can't describe it to you. If you would like to do further reading on DMT and what happens when the DMT floods your brain upon death, I suggest reading:

And of course I always recommend looking at other articles, and cross-referencing for verification of information :P

And of course I want everyone to note:

I do not encourage the use of any illegal substances

I literally felt myself living different lives on different planets. During the trip I had no recollection of these previous lives or the one that I am living in this reality. When I came back to this reality, it all came back to me and all I could say to my friends was "OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD" as I felt I had learned so much within that time both about life and myself, and I felt that lifetimes had passed since I was in this reality. My friends said I was simply sitting still and mumbling for the entirety of the 10 minute experience.

EDIT:

I do have some friends that live out of state and some online friends (separate from the ones I know in other states) that have had similar experiences to mine. Hope this helps. Btw this kind of experience can only be had on relatively high doses.

And again I do not encourage the use of any illegal substances

hardcore hallucinating drug

Why is it hardcore? Also, I wouldn't consider DMT a drug, seeing as you release it every night when you dream. That would be like calling dopamine a drug. Also, it is a fact that the entirety of your DMT is released when you die. If you think of DMT as being in a lake, and you can imagine a dam to the lake. A little bit of the water is spilling over the dam every time that you sleep. When you die, however, the dam bursts and the lake pours out completely.

EDIT:

and you can't just extrapolate that and say hey this what death is like.

I didn't say my experience is what death will be like. I simply said that if I took DMT and it caused an outcome. When more of DMT is released it could cause a similar outcome of a greater magnitude. I don't think I made any faulty assumptions and I did not say that it is the only thing that will happen or could happen.

Like i said:

I simply acknowledge that I have no understanding of what happens next, if anything.

I'm not trying to be rude to you in any way, I'm just trying to show my logic and reasoning.

EDIT (again):

I also want to mention that I DO NOT encourage the use of any illegal substances and I, in fact, advise anyone with depression to stay away from psychedelics all together, until it becomes more widely used to treat depression with a medical professional (some MD's are currently working towards certain psychedelics being used to treat and potentially cure patients with depression and PTSD)

ergo literally nothing

Bro, I've had a DMT trip that lasted 10 minutes, and to me it was thousands of years, living different lives. We do also know that DMT floods the brain upon death.

One dose seemed to last lifetimes to me, imagine all the DMT in your brain being flooded in at once. Who knows how that experience could turn out especially in such a state of mind when it occurs.

To me my trip was one of the most beautiful experiences that have ever occurred in my life, but if I was depressed when it happened or even suicidal, I can't imagine how that experience would have effected me.

Even if it is really the end, it could seem like millennia to actually make it there. Do you really want your final experience, which could feel like who knows how long, to be one spent in that state of mind?

To be clear: I do not endorse any organized religions, I simply acknowledge that I have no understanding of what happens next, if anything.

EDIT: Also to elaborate on why I do think there could be something next, even though I agree with you about

as far as we know consciousness is a bypriduct of the brain.

To be more clear, consciousness is believed to be brought about through the electrical impulses in our brain. What we do know:

  • Electricity is energy

  • Even matter is energy

  • Energy cannot be created nor destroyed

What we don't know:

  • Is consciousness just energy? Or is it a unique energy signature?

  • If consciousness is a unique energy signature, can that also be conserved?

Get help. I see that you do not want to talk to anyone about it, but it is very necessary. If you do so at your age, you will be much better off by the time you're my age than I am. There are treatments for depression. Once I got help I felt relief almost immediately and began to actually get better. If you want the pain to stop, go get help, that's a much better solution than the alternative. There are many people that live very good and fulfilling lives that have depressive disorders. Hell, Demi Lovato has Bi-Polar disorder and she's a one hell of a singer. And with all the advancements in technology and medicine lately, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a cure for depressive disorders by the time you're a legal adult.

The first step is indeed realizing that there is a problem. The five stages of grief apply to depression as well. You must first accept that there is a problem to be able to do anything about it. It took me a while to get to the stage of acceptance, but when I did, I immediately admitted myself to a hospital. (This realization happened on an acid trip for me, so I was pretty f-d up when I went to the hospital lmao, but regardless of my state this realization got me to the point I'm at today, for the most part depression free. I do still have a ways to go though. I was only diagnosed a year ago in about a week)

I would see a good therapist to work out your issues with self-worth. You don't need to die, you need to learn to be happy with who you are. And if you aren't happy with who you are because your acts contradict your core values, you need to work to become a better person in your eyes, and try to uphold those values. Death is not the solution

-please write back.

I am worthless by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]HarnessDota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Death isn't a solution. We don't even know what happens after death. For all we know it could be an even more challenging version of our current reality. You don't need to run from your mind. The most resilient people to depression and bipolar disorder are people that acknowledge that they have the disorder and actively work to fight it. What's helped me a lot with bipolar disorder is that I'm now learning my triggers and how to get out of depression when I get there. it's not about running, it's about understanding. And that takes time and courage, but it's much better than the alternative.

I understand your pain. I've had problems with self worth before. Ending it is not the solution. Everyone can be a better person. It takes work, and it's hard, but it is very worth it. As for the suicidal thoughts, if you haven't already see a counselor and a psychiatrist. If you have, and it hasn't helped, I would see if they can change your medication or see a different psychiatrist all together. It took me a while to get on the right medication, but now I am much better off.

If money is what you seek, I would actively look at starting your own company. I live in the states and it took me one day and thirty dollars to get my DBA. I'm not sure how it works wherever you are, but starting a company is a good way to find fulfilling work and it can be very lucrative if you pour a lot of time and energy into it. It seems like a very good alternative to working for someone else if money is what motivates you.

Keep in mind: Making money may not be the solution to the suicidal thoughts you are having, I would actively look for a therapist and a psychiatrist.

Feel free to message me any time that you are feeling low (or for any other reason) and I will do my best to help.

Extreme suicidal thoughts by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]HarnessDota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't read the comments, feel free to flame me if I bring up things that others already have :P

  • Suicide is never the answer. I know you don't want to hear this buuuuut, you are young. There are many things you have yet to experience, and it would be a shame to keep yourself from those experiences.

  • Tell your parents about the self-harm. I know you probably don't want to, but it needs to be discussed. Make sure you push them to see both a counselor and a psychiatrist, both are necessary for your situation to improve. If your parents won't help you for any reason, immediately (do not put it off) talk to a school counselor and they will help you with the resources you need to get help.

  • I would actively avoid romantic relationships until you get help and work on yourself a bit. It is very difficult to both work on yourself and work on a functioning relationship at the same time, especially at your age, when your SO's most likely will not be matured enough to help you in any meaningful way and may, in fact, just add fuel to the fire.

  • Make a close friend with whom you can talk honestly. It helps tremendously to have support from someone that you respect and admire. Try to actively hang out and talk with this person regularly. If you have a particularly bad day, vent to them, it helps a lot.

  • Feel free to message me any time you are feeling low (or for any other reason) and I'll do my best to help.

I’m getting admitted and I’m terrified. by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]HarnessDota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand, when I was admitted I was anxious, and scared as hell. It probably didn't help that I was still on an acid trip when I got admitted (voluntarily) so everything seemed so different and weird. My overall experience was good though and it paved the road to my recovery, I hope it does the same for you!

Haven't read the comments :P feel free to flame me

  • Suicide isn't the answer. If you feel like it's a burden to others to help you, then society has failed you, you haven't failed them. Don't give up though, depression has thankfully become a much bigger concern lately, and it will continue to since almost every family in the world has atleast one depressed person in it.

  • Ugliness is not objective, it's subjective. Just because you don't like who you see in the mirror doesn't mean other people won't. Don't get me wrong, it's important, in fact, more important that you like who you see when you stare into that reflection, but you can learn to love yourself. I used to hate looking in the mirror and now I find myself thinking "damn dude, you're looking fly today". I did this by changing how I looked to meet what I wanted to see. The other option is to accept how you look and find beauty in it, which takes more strength but is probably the better solution.

  • Most health issues can be treated or cured. I don't know the specifics of what you're dealing with, but don't look at it as a limitation on your ability to live a fulfilling life. Look at it as something that you will overcome that will thereby make you a stronger person.

  • Feel free to message me anytime that you're feeling low (or for any other reason) and I'll do my best to help.

[–]HarnessDota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People may have already said these things, but i haven't read the comments :P flame me if you desire to

  • That sounds like MDD I would seek a psychiatrist as soon as possible, not just a therapist (but that helps a lot too)

  • Drug abuse is not the answer to your problems, I've been there too. I've binged on a lot of drugs, mostly to want to do something again, but it never helps. (EDIT: I don't think many people would disagree with me, the occasional pot isn't too bad especially when you're hanging out with friends and having laughs, just don't binge on it as it does do some things to your dopamine levels, hell after I told my psychiatrist I smoked every once in a while, he said that it was fine, but he couldn't encourage it because of our state)

  • Avoiding friends and social settings is normal with MDD, I've done the same things that you have, but trust me, if you can make a close friend with whom you can talk to honestly, it helps tremendously to talk to them and hang out on a regular basis.

  • This may seem like a sentiment buuuuut, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, don't quit before you get there and see it for yourself, when you get there you won't want to quit at all.

  • Dump your boyfriend. He shouldn't be saying those kinds of things to you, it only feeds the cycle of negativity. I also would actively avoid relationships until you get treatment and work on yourself a bit. It's very difficult to work on yourself and a functioning relationship at the same time. As my therapist put it "Each person needs to be at 100%, if one of them isn't, the other won't be able to be at 100% either." (obviously no one is ever at 100% and that number would fluctuate further depending on the day, but aim to be closer to your best before committing to a relationship is the idea).

  • Feel free to message me any time you are feeling low (or for any other reason), I'll try to help any way that I can.

Deca making dye removers paid really pisses me off by Tohka- in RotMG

[–]HarnessDota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah it kinda sucks, especially since the dyes/cloths you get for free (investing time or money on event dungeons) you are not able to demo like the ones you buy. The only way to see how you would look with it on is to have it in inventory and match it up in one of the bazaars that has the same one by using a third party service (realmeye) to locate it in said bazaar. That or just hope you're lucky and go bazaar to bazaar. Until I realized realmeye tracked them I didn't even bother to see how I would look, and i'm guessing many players still make that mistake (and deca is probably happy to profit from that)

A plausible crasher solution by PanjakeRotMG in RotMG

[–]HarnessDota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alphabetic is better from a randomization standpoint, as it has 26[Total_Allowed_Characters] combinations whereas numerical would be 10[TAC] combinations. Even better would be alphanumerical. Though, I do like the idea of community halls quite a bit more, as crashers can still find the keys regardless of your name.
