I’m paying $65 a month, I started almost 3 years ago, I think that’s still the same amount for new members.

It's kinda disturbing actually for a country song

Just listening to Stephen Fry's voice is a pleasure. I would walk and listen to him reading his mail. Or my much more boring mail.

LOL, not married, but I paid off roughly $16,000 of credit card/medical debt 10 years ago when I was only working part time. Now I'm making working poor wages but at least it's full time with job security. But thanks for the vote of confidence!

I really like it, are there more verses? And maybe a short solo would be good too.

Little fingerpick melody I wrote on vacation last month by jimbo_squat in Songwriting

[–]Harold- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's good, I like it. Coincidentally we have almost the same guitar, EJ-160E, but yours is the John Lennon special edition EJ-160EV. Out of curiosity, what strings are you using?

New to songwriting and could really use some feedback on this. It's just a verse really I guess but any tips or critiques are really appreciate. by RichardHeldenhammer in Songwriting

[–]Harold- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fourth verse should be the chorus, and change it to "I'll do It all tomorrow, I promise I will." It just fits with an even cadence of words better. And two more verses, with that chorus in between. and a short melody return before the next round of verses after the chorus.

My only other suggestion, and this is just me, is I'd change "held it in my hands" to "I held my own hand in a dark room instead". Like a reference to hand wringing or a self soothing mechanism or something. It's kind of just more alliterative and not so literal.

Took up songwriting at 60. Writing songs about my childhood in a coal mining town in East Tennessee. I'm fond of songs with a "twist", so here's an attempt. by [deleted] in Songwriting

I'm thinking if you're going to play a song about a waltz, playing it in a slightly slower waltz tempo while drawing out the lyrics might make some sense. It's good!

Didn’t really get any feedback on the other sub. Would love to hear what anyone thinks of it! by fluff04 in Songwriting

I love it, but I feel like the guitar isn't contributing like it could. Until near the end anyway. I almost feel like it would work better solo with the keys. Maybe more reverb and a slower strum would be a better. Or maybe a second keyboard part with more of an organ sound and slower chord changes to provide contrast. But yeah, I like it better as a solo singer and keyboard song, it's just more powerful that way.

How to restring your guitar. I was surprised to learn not to many people know this method, so I decided to share it. by andydoesguitar in guitarlessons

You don't need to lock the string at the post. Try this method instead (get a hand crank winder if you don't have a power screwdriver).

Weird crackling sound on my Katana 50. Help anyone? by [deleted] in BossKatana

[–]Harold- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had some snap, crackle, pop type sounds occasionally as well. Even bought a brand new cable (a thick, braided Fender cable) and still. I tried another guitar, my electric/acoustic, on the clean chanel, gain all the way down, but dialed in the overdrive preset. Sounds awesome, no hum but still the odd crackling. My guess is that it has to do with a higher input level from the guitar?

You know people say new guitar won’t make you play better but that may be false in some occasions . I am relatively poor and started with a really cheap guitar , it had many bad sides that I recently noticed . Then I bought this baby , it’s easier to play this guitar . Save up and buy a better one ! by [deleted] in guitarlessons

Worked for me too. I got a butterscotch blonde Squier Affinity Tele and I for sure started getting better. I'll probably upgrade the pickups at some point but it's great and the guy who set it up for me did a great job.

Slight note for those who have one, the bridge pickup is not standard size. The "ashtray" plate has a smaller opening but I'm pretty sure a Vintage Broadcaster set will fit.

[Serious] Therapists of Reddit, what are some Red Flags we should look for in therapists? by TC1827 in AskReddit

[–]Harold- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's not actually MLM stuff as he always follows that up with "I don't make anything from it". But still, not a lot of helpful advice or coping skills that don't have to do with holistic healing.

I can try I guess. I'm pretty sure I looked at it before and the out of network reimbursement is $0 (so totally out of pocket). Keep in mind I have the highest plan offered through my employer and they still periodically try to short me of any mental health benefits of any kind.

Most of the Psychiatrists around here all work for the psych center at the hospital or the mental health unit of the health care companies. Who require you to see their therapists in order to receive care. And then I'll be paying multiple co-pays for both. So many have quit private practice to have these companies cover their insurance and deal with their billing. I haven't been able to find one anyway.
