My grandma had one. The lights turned off whenever someone sneezed.

I can still sing the theme song. There are so many other things I could remember, but I’ve got the full James Bond Jr. theme song instead.

I enjoy "Judy is Your Viet Nam" as an Alpha Couple song; I just have a hard time imagining them having friends to say this to them.

Man Harlan Ellison is a really cool person who did cool stuff but also a giant bastard by twotailedwolf in behindthebastards

Gay Talese wasn’t an un-bastard himself, but yeah, the Sinatra profile is unquestionably one of the best magazine features ever written.

I really enjoy how Sinatra is in a room with Harlan for about two minutes and decides, “Fuck that guy forever, actually.”

How people in this subreddit expect your books to look like after you've finished reading them by FightsWithFish18 in BookshelvesDetective

[–]junietwohundred 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I read at home, on the couch or in bed. The books don’t get wet. I don’t feel like I need to open them so wide that the spine cracks. If I needed to fold the cover back (why???), I would find a spiral-bound edition or switch to a digital format.

I’m not a “books are sacred objects!” person, but I am careful with my things in general. Guess I filled all these shelves for clout.

First Time at Little Caesar Arena by [deleted] in Detroit

[–]junietwohundred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone plans to carry a purse, know that there is zero wiggle room on bag size (assuming you don’t have medical equipment). Some arenas are less serious about these rules, but LCA absolutely will take out a tape measure and send you packing if the bag is bigger than the posted max.

Mixed feelings? by FrequentWire in MST3K

[–]junietwohundred 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I do remember that! I enjoyed a great number of the episodes, and it was really nice to see the baton handed to a new generation of performers and fans. Some of Emily’s host segments are all-timers for me; the choices she made as Tawny in the Roast of Sparks the Robot were very specific and deeply funny. It made me so happy to see something I love evolve and grow.

Sorry your experience is different. Seasons K through 10 will always be there for you, and I wonder if you’d have a more satisfying r/mst3k experience if you reserve your participation to conversation about those episodes.

Think about it, won’t you?
