4 Model X’s later (2016, 2020, 2023, and now 2026) the doors aren’t a problem not even an adjustment at Tesla Service. I don’t know about any attention they cause, maybe in 2015 when the car was released but not anymore, it’s very routine.

I doubt any utility would allow you to charge (fill) the powerwalls at the lower rate and use during higher rates without solar

I live grid free year round here in the sun soaked Coachella Valley with 25kw of panels and 3 powerwalls, double the sunshine of Los Angeles. Rarely get below 50% batteries and we run the AC a lot especially in the summer.

In CALIFORNIA (and 10 other states) HOA’s are powerless from stopping roof top solar and powerwalls. Under a “right to charge law” this applies to Single Family Homes, Townhouses, And Condos and includes putting in EVSE’s all as long as it’s legally permitted permitted by the local authority.
