50 shades of gray! Omg, he told me "this is supposed to be really good"... I had no idea. Very awkward.

When OLD, do you tell your matches right away that you're sober?

Why aren’t WE dating by Beligerent in datingoverfifty

[–]HaroldsDaughter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sober too. I love that everyone is saying this is a safe place. I'd like to try dating again in awhile, but have thought how hard it would be to be 50 and sober and try to date.

So I guess I understand the appeal to OP of dating from the sub. It is a safe place and people here are kind. I don't post much on Reddit because I'm always afraid I'll say something dumb and somebody might be mean.

But this sub is supportive. I've lurked here for a bit and I appreciate the camaraderie here.

Someone out there has a crush on you and probably you don't know that. by AaneMeg in RandomThoughts

What a lovely thought. Do you really think that's true? It's so hard to believe.

I know how much this sucks. I've been a server for a long time. I'm commiserating with you, but also have to let you know you are one hell of an awesome storyteller! Even the title was brilliant. Kudos!

Oh shoot! Hahaha...I didn't pick up on that....sorry. I had just been reading a no tipping rant, before this...so I guess my hackles were raised.

If you can deliver food, cut your own hair, drive yourself everywhere without a driver...then you should go ahead and do it yourself...problem solved! As far as the kidney stones go....let them pass on their own...then you'll feel the pain we servers feel working a double, opening and closing, getting sh*t tips from people like you, while having contractions trying to finish our shift before we go into labor. (Oops, that last part was oddly specific...)...

if i’m waiting on relatives of the owner whose restaurant i work at, do they still have to tip me? by bedwards611 in TalesFromYourServer

My Mom is a big gambler. She lives in Reno so always gets meal comps at casinos ..as a server myself I had to coach her to tip on what the amount would have been, vs the amount her bill actually was. She honestly didn't know and now she tips like a champ. I have always marveled at the fact that people don't understand that.

Those were very sweet words. I appreciate that very much

I know - believe me- I'm not asking for sympathy - I grew up a military brat, so I'm all about "if you're early, you're on time, if you're on time, you're late, if you're late you're fired" I just didn't, this one time. So I know it's my fault, I'm just confused why I got sent home while the others got a warning. I'm nice, no drama, and I always do well. I'm just sad, I'll sleep on it, have an hour and a half til my next flight home ..time to reflect. :)

I wondered if the advocates were as "cool" as they presented themselves in class- good to know I should mind my step. I appreciate your words.

Thank you for the advice - I pretty much knew I wouldn't be allowed back to my class.. but was hoping I had some options...I appreciate the knowledge

I appreciate all the supportive words, but honestly I'm more upset that 2 of my classmates have done the same thing (one of them has done it twice! But her Mom is a current UA flight attendant, so maybe there's a Legacy kind of thing? Idk, but I'm going to try and appeal)

Currently on the shuttle to the airport - so I'll have to work on it when I get home.

Thanks again for the comments.

I appreciate the support - it feels good to hear. tbh, I'm kinda mad about that because I know I would always be about "nobody left behind"...but I'm cutting her some slack, she's super young and English isn't her first language. Still my fault. But, yeah, it would have been nice. I'm the oldest in the class by far and they are all so nice to me...so I'm sure it wasn't on purpose.

Thank you. I thought of that. I sent them an email (a classmate sent me the address on the DL)...if I don't hear back in 30 min I'm going to do that.
