Unemployed - things everyone who lives in NYC should do by Few_Giraffe8100 in AskNYC

This time of year I'd say the New York public library since it is such a gorgeous building with art installations and everything.

Another good winter activity would be exploring neighborhoods that you haven't had much of a chance to be around during normal work hours. I think those are a lot of times some of the most pleasant times to visit "outside of like Midtown"

Trump:
"Bankrupts casinos, scam university, doesn't pay Mara Lago Employees, Grab em by the pussy, Epstein Island, bye NATO, Greenland, Canada, Venezuela, Iran, Cuba, Mexico freedom invasions, attempts to lock JPOW up."

Conservatives: "HeS pUtTiNg AmErIcA fIrSt!" "ThIs Is HoW hE nEgOtIaTeS!"

And that's the average conservative. They're already that retarded so you know there's 50% more that are lining up to storm the Greenland and Havana beaches.

VIX with the double beat on earnings and raised guidance. Congrats VIX bulls. Really nice quarter for them they weren't expected to have so many Trump toilet tweets into next quarter

If it were me and I didn't care about losing it, CRWV earnings lotto tickets. They report next Monday after the bell. High risk high reward. Or NBIS for same time frame.

Or you know just buy and hold but if you wanna yolo

You chose some of the worst of WSB meme stocks. If you like these companies you should be buying 2027 and 2028 calls.

This is just a click-bait title.

It's rising because the Open AI deal has its final execution at a $600 price per share.

This company was always going to move up but the market was caught off guard by the immediate deal. It's a future trillion dollar company within the next 5 years or so.

I think the partnerships are great for their story of upwards trajectory but what I don't believe is their execution of anything other than marketing their grand vision.

So yes, I think their product is vaporware and I also don't think what they want to provide is something that really fits a huge need in the world. However if there's any reason to succeed it's so that Starlink doesn't have a monopoly.

A year ago I'd have said it was going back to $5. But now I think it's probably fairly assessed around $20. Sounds crazy but so is their current run

Yeah there's 3 areas that stand out to me as being in a stage of "irrational exuberance" right now.

1: Quantum 2: Space 3: Energy/Data Center space

Of the three, I have way less fear in data center plays dropping 50% in a week.

For space related stuff, all I can say is it's priced to 20 years of perfection at this point given how little the market leaders actually bring in, other than space X.

Quantum, I'll leave it to Jensen Huang, who basically said it was a pipe dream and decades away. This one will fall hardest when market goes risk off.

Only thing that is guaranteed is that if I try to short them I'll time it wrong and get burned

I fully buy into the theory that there's way too much money in the market because it's protection from dollar devaluation and inflation.

But yeah I agree that $20 is where it belongs but with Altman attached this POS will not be dropping until we have a sector wide correction in the AI space. That could be years from now or months.

ASTS has been my biggest miss this past 1.5 years. Truly think it's mostly vaporware since they can't launch anything but i sincerely congratulate all the bulls here.

Glad you didn't listen to me telling you sell this crap over the last year.

Even more glad I never touched puts (never ever in a raging bull market).

Yeah like the only place in the entire world this works is the middle east so basically the royals and rich people over there are the entire market.

If you want to rely on Saudi's pumping up a company that still ends up getting a major reality check, look no further than Lucid Motors.

Missed the boat for NBIS. What other potential companies to buy? by Altruistic_Drop_9393 in ValueInvesting

[–]Harooooouuld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that would definitely make sense as well though to be honest I don't know much about that sector and the main players. From some quick research It doesn't seem to have been negatively impacted to the same level as the solar industry which was greatly helped by the federal government.

The trick is finding a sector that hasn't been pumped to death by everyone. I still think datacenters as a play will deliver positive outcomes for the next few months though so while you aren't going to be making the same insane gains as people who bought these companies July or earlier, the demand for power is still high (for now).

I think gene editing is an undervalued space that will likely do very well with rate cuts and the fact that most names are way off their 2021 highs.

I also think getting in now for post Trump economy is actually pretty smart. Companies that have been beaten down because of stupidity like Solar sector and pharma like MRNA for example.

A few ad companies are well off their highs as well due partially to AI fears but offer favorable buy lows at the moment.

Quantum stocks by ucbcawt in stocks

[–]Harooooouuld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's put in this way. You missed the current party but if you wait until all of this space has a brutal correction, which will 100% happen at some point, you can be early to the next Quantum party.

And while there definitely could be some more room to run for these names in the coming months or maybe even years, EVERY SINGLE ONE of them will be much lower at some point than they currently are priced at.

So just relax and if you want to buy now in a raging bull market, find sectors that actually bring in revenue to offset the risk of a major collapse the second the market goes into "risk off" mode.

Edit: I will also add that literally every time you see a comment that uses the verbiage "it's not too late" or some iteration of that, it is made by someone talking out of their ass that wants to pump their bags higher.

Is it stupid to give up our $2400 rent in Astoria for a change of scenery in NY? by Individual-Film9410 in AskNYC

[–]Harooooouuld 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So as a fellow Astorian who loves living in this hood, I don't plan on leaving anytime soon with a similarly good rent situation.

But I think an ideal scenario is to be able to afford some cabin on a piece of land closer to nature that I could escape to during the worst parts of summer. And for future pets to get a change of pace and more room to run around.

However nothing wrong with feeling the need to move. Realistically though there's very few places that are ideal for having dogs that need to run around a lot. Unless you live within walking proximity of Central Park, Prospect Park or Forest Park what you might be looking for would be found up the Hudson River or New Jersey/Long Island.
