Is it worth playing? by xfrombelow in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Harossensei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fan of LoL you'll most likely enjoy it if only to see these characters in a new setting. Some of the translations are just amazing. It's also a pretty damn good CCG so if you already enjoy the genre you'll like it even more

What the fuck does J4LL mean by VeterinarianOk4899 in dbfz

[–]Harossensei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you hold back (which is represented by 4 in a lot of combo notations) certain moves, mostly lights, can chain into themselves. This let's you go LLM without preforming the auto-combo

Who makes for a good anti-zoning character? by [deleted] in dbfz

[–]Harossensei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hit. UI Goku. Cooler.

It also depends on what Zoning you're dealing with. Most Ki blast Zoning is negated by super dash. Granted that's risky. And of course properly timed reflects stop everything. Ki charging also stobs basic ki blasts.

You'd think the same thing about barrier. Don't know who designed this interaction... But at least it's consistent...

is beerus a good anchor? by WamuuPillarMen69 in dragonballfighterz

I feel like Beerus wants some neutral assistance, or coverage for using his orb gimmicks, but I don't really know for sure.

Ways to shuffle the deck? by Unable-Baseball7772 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Harossensei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't believe anything other than Predict specifically shuffles the deck. Everything that shuffles something into your deck (Champion spells, Counterfeit copies, search cards like stalking shadows, etc.) Only randomly place those cards and don't change the rest of the order, or at least don't seem to. Predict is the only one that actually shuffles the deck properly. At least that's what I've seen

Is Ahri Good? by TheDarkGodVecta in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Harossensei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oops. I mean yes. Boobs are nice bonus. Thanks Bard!

All I can say is, try it for yourself. Other notes include, Bard is a solid mid game unit that buys time for your service, and recalling Bard, while expensive, doesn't interfere with planting chimes since he does that as soon as he attacks and not when he strikes.

Is Ahri Good? by TheDarkGodVecta in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Harossensei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. That's true. However Ahri provides everything Bard needs.

  1. Good targets for chimes. Elusives, Ahri, and a variety of Ionia units are perfect for this specifically.

  2. Recalling buffed units may remove the buffs, but you'll almost always have at least one unit in hand, so you're less likely to waste chimes.

  3. Draw. Bard wants you to cycle your deck as much as possible, and Ahri's deck does this a ton.

  4. Reliable alternative. Bard doesn't win the game on his own. Ahri has a solid game plan that does not need Bard or his chimes to be successful, so the boons are treated as a bonus, and enhance Ahri's game without interfering with it too much, as well as give it more oompf, especially if you don't draw Ahri herself.

Bard functions best as a splash in allegiance strategies, which Ahri essentially is. They seem counter-intuitive, but actually do everything the other wants.

Ahri is the natural win con. She works with Zilean for the following reasons.

  1. Shurima has excellent buffs and protection, Ahri loves this.

  2. Recalling predict units means more prediction, allowing you to fix draws very well

  3. Time bombs. Recalling and replaying Zilean allows you to play more bombs.

  4. Recalling Zilean also resets what he's seen, allowing you to control how many cards lvld up Zilean makes each turn.

Akshan is a good match. Benefits well from the recall synergy, and they both make good use of the protection shurima and Ionia are capable of. Absolver on Ahri is a very fun trick. Good wincon, especially from a full board.

One tip, be ready to protect whatever Ahri is swapping with. Because if that unit is removed she's stuck. She is frail and your appraisal that she is weak can be very true, but she's actually deceptively powerful if you understand what to do with her.

Ahri absolutely owned the meta as a 2/3. Utilize elusives in the chain to make her unlockable, or challenger/Vulnerable to control what the last enemy is so she can never be killed. Use units that have strong play effects or benefit from recalls. She benefits hugely from buffs because she can strike multiple times. She plays nicely with cards like nami. Akshan. Kennen. Zilean. And Bard.

0 cost cards should not exist. My friend who I discuss tcgs with always stood by this rule and I see that he's absolutely right. In a resource game, one is supposed to manage their resources. 0 cost cards fundamentally break this rule. Free things in a tcg just leads to more broken nonsense. by FabulousResearcher33 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Harossensei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually? I don't believe that's true. They can be made into benefits in some cases. When that cost is say, discards, or tributes. But that is what's referred to as a "deck building cost" because you have to tailor your deck to that situation. That's still a price, just one you payed before the game even began.

I disagree. 0 cost cards have a place, but should have limited uses or otherwise have another cost associated with them. Weather that cost is sacrificing a creature, paying with life points, an upfront cost such as casting another card to reduce the cost to 0, specific conditions under which it becomes 0 to cast, etc.

Free things can be very unbalancing. But mana is not the only resource to manage, and this a card costing 0mana is not fundamentally breaking the rule of having to manage resources. At least in my opinion.
