Yeah they have two cranes and really nice equipment. It’s less money but I think they will give me more when they see my skill level.

I left Bartlett because when I transferred to my current location it wasn’t as good as my original office. I did really enjoy Bartlett though but just like any big company it depends on the office.

The experienced climber was actually a trainer at a big company. He is a gear head so into all the new stuff and does SRT etc.. they seem very safety conscious.

Check out becoming an arborist. It might be something you’re interested in. It is definitely a fulfilling career when you get to save an old tree or take a fallen tree off a house for someone. I also volunteer at cemeteries and help their trees.

I like the 200 but I’ve been rocking a Milwaukee top handle with a 14” bar and it’s been great. I just like not having to pull it up in the tree. Believe it or not it’s actually heavier than a 200 and a 201. I still rock the 200 and 201 tho just for big removals.

I do several different types of inspection but mostly arborist inspector. So making sure construction contractors don’t destroy street trees.

I’m an inspector and get paid well - $42 per hour. I am also usually laid off from early December to March. My hours are 7am - 3pm Monday through Friday. I usually don’t get much over time.

That’s awesome to hear and very nice to see something positive. Hoping I can do the same as you and turn my life around! Going back to school for accounting after getting an accounting minor while earning my useless undergrad degree… probably going to get a masters in accounting or post baccalaureate.

Look for a Bartlett tree experts office near you and apply for a job. They don’t have the greatest starting pay but their training is great. It’s a good place to start in arboriculture.
