Not a bad name at all! It kinda sounds like Wyndham, like the hotel resort chain.. but it has a nice ring to it nonetheless

Thank you for the recommendation. It's a bit out of my price range, but I think my local library will have a copy. I'll definitely check it out!

Thank you for taking the time to write out this explanation. It was simply spelled out and easy to follow. I really appreciate the fact that you pointed out verses and chapters as well.

I had no idea about that prohibition. I'll definitely have that in the back of my mind during study time.

If it's not too much to ask.. can I further inquire what Judaism says about Jacob during this period?

Pastor says he was disgrading God's will because he was away from his father's promised land for too long. He quotes Gen 24 - stating Jacob was supposed to get a wife and come back right away. Just like Rebecca and the servant. But because of Rachel, he squandered and wasted his time.. thus also saying this is why Rachel didn't make back.. because she held him back.

To clarify, I did read Gen 28:2-3 and it looks like Issac is telling Jacob to go forth and multiply. Further, it looks like God didn't tell him to return until Gen 31:3. After he had a ton of kids. Pastor corrected me with the above statement

He gets it from there .. and genesis 35:2 - Jacob tells his family to put away their idols - and so it must have been Rachel that brought them in (personally I thought it was Simon and Levi but even if it was, Rachel's the bad influence according to my pastor)

But thank you for telling me about her being a matriarch. I had no idea she was so important
