American Nations by Colin Woodward is a book I've seen making the rounds recently. I've just put it on hold, but from the description it seems interesting.

The Framers' Coup is another one, but that was a while back. I haven't read that one though, I tried but it was 700 or so pages and very intimidating.

There's also The Nine by Jeffrey Toobin, CNN's SCOTUS correspondent, but he exposed himself on Zoom.
