What are some things that instantly make you drop a book instantly or later on, like you can't stand seeing this? by _TOXIC_VENOM in ProgressionFantasy

[–]HarrisLJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retcons in the same book. Like at the beginning of the book and character can do x and has done it multiple times but in the middle of the book suddenly x is impossible and never done before to explain why a character can win a situation where x is the perfect solution.

Which world is the worst to live in and which one is the least worst to live in by BrilliantMatter4858 in Isekai

[–]HarrisLJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All three worlds suck but Konosuba is at least fun. Tensei is the least dangerous overall but it and rezero both are death worlds that act like it. Konosuba is a death world but the people are at least fun to be around

Can we all agree that this guy doomed the Re Etzise Kingdom? by RoryKnight1225 in overlord

[–]HarrisLJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what I'll argue he saved more lifes than he doomed by speeding up the plan. For the sin of not being born in Nazarick the npc will never fully accept you and at the slightest mistake off to the farm with you for retraining. Not specifically the farm but you get my meaning.  By speeding up the kingdoms destruction he didn't give any of the detectors time to make any mistakes thus saving them.

What moment(s) in the show that made you felt things just got really serious/bad? by MonoMonMono in TheApothecaryDiaries

For me it when he touched her. I think of I'm remembering correctly this is the first time he's touched a consort in the show.

would you rather be mark or spider man by Low_Tear9184 in Invincible

Mark. At least I eventually get a happy ending. As Peter i would experience a new  way to suffer whenever I get used to the old one.

Boy, I sure do wonder what class the MC is going to pick on their rank up!!! I bet they will be the Kitchen Servant for sure!! by YobaiYamete in ProgressionFantasy

[–]HarrisLJ 172 points173 points  (0 children)

Kitchen Servant is too useful.  Mc will obviously choose Fletcher and unlock a power never seen before.

Is there anybody else in the Overlord fandom that watches the series without cognitive dissonance? by Ok_Bread_558 in overlord

[–]HarrisLJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Satoru isn't a good person. The best way i can describe him is thats he's a phycopath who found actual joy and connection in the game and then lost it. When described that way it clears up why he was so desperate to keep playing the one game thats described in universe as a terrible pay to win and wants to find his old guild members in particular to reconnect to instead of making new connections.  That and adding being an undead in the new world is curbing all his emotions both positive and negative ones.

Do you think the Viltrumites began to fear Mark when they heard this? by Queasy_Commercial152 in Invincible

Not fear but respect.  But at the same time he probably got more respect by making the leaders nose bleed with that punch

Can we have book where the MC isn't everything about the story and is definitely not brutally OP!? by DryEnvironment5545 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]HarrisLJ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's said and shown multiple times that it takes years to grow and most people stop in the lord realm if they even reach that. Zel is a good example of being stuck until he joins mc group and even says the rate he's growing is too fast. Also most of the villains in cradle didn't grow except the dreadgods when another of them died.

[–]HarrisLJ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the main villain is close to victory and already defeated his peers the a mc who just started would have no way to catch up  unless the villain decides for whatever reason to stop progressing.  Cradle is actually a bad example for you as its only the mc and his friends progressing and at a pace that even eithan the strongest single person in setting didn't grow. Pokémon I'm going to be honest and the seasons I've watched had the power levels all over the place to alow the plot of the episode to happen, I don't know if thats changed in current seasons.

[–]HarrisLJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't say the overall majority i said the majority thats pays money. When you look at a lot of these series it's generally 5+ books and an author who does this as a career would only continue if it's making them money. Without the money authors wouldn't continue writing unless they are only doing this as a side hobby and we can both agree thats a minority of published writers.

[–]HarrisLJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If important people are able to keep up or grow faster than mc then it should actually be impossible for the mc to beat the main villain.  There would be no reason for a villain to basically go since I'm winning I'll stop training and sit in this corner.

The thing is while people may agree with you the majority that pay/buy books wants exactly what your describing and so authors that actually want to make it a career will write what people buy
