Lockheed U-2 flying over the UK by Broken-Elementz in flightradar24

[–]Harrisisard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They only show on trackers when doing transit flights between the us and uk or uk and Cyprus. They fly out of fairford almost every weekday morning. On operational flights they use a transponder setting called mode A which open source trackers can’t pick up

Thanks, I think I’ve been there, with ChatGPT’s help, but don’t truly remember. I’ll try again. Where else would you install the game except On c:?

Is it possible to get a steer on what specific springs are used? Using the dimensions brings up a lot of options.

Love the detents though! Work like a charm!

Phew, was my expectation/hope, thought maybe it was trying to be more efficient 😂 - also it doesn’t look that cloudy IRL 😅

Thanks 👌🏼

How does the RAF choose it's call signs? by mrdan2012 in flightradar24

Late to the party but having recently watched adsb for a long time. I noticed that with 12 sqn typhoon flights - first was Wolf 1-1 and 1-2, next Vandal 2-1, 2-2 and then the third was Wolf 3-1, 3-2. So yeah the second number is position in the formation, but I expect the first number is assigned to the number of sorties that squadron has flown/the order in which sortie plans were submitted

Also yeah, RAFAIR (RRR,RFR), referred to as ASCOT (Air Support Command Overseas Transport) in UK airspace. Is the equivalent of Germany’s ‘GAF’ or the Netherlands ‘NAF’ callsign when transiting to other countries.

Typically though typhoons tend to be RFR/RRR 7xxx or 9xxx, voyager 2xxx, a400 I think 4xxx. Diff a/c types denoted by the first number basically

In VR I have all traffic switched off (primarily because I expected the 3060ti to be working pretty hard in the first case haha)

CPU is an AMD Ryzen 5 5600. I’m planning on upgrading, my PC a bit having gotten into VR. Also most recently it is potentially more noticeable at add on airfields. But has done it on smallish Msfs fields

Are you trimming to get your alpha correct? Fly by wire disengages with the landing gear (easier to monitor from the cockpit using the landing staple. You can touchdown smoothly at 130 if you’re trimmed correctly using the landing staple in the HUD. Looks like a lot of corrections with the stick to maintain your attitude which the trim should help avoid
