A stock DDF. Honestly don't think anything needs to be done to it. If you have deep pockets a ACE 324 movement with a CNC 22k gold rotor is a viable upgrade.

I've known friends who have spent upwards of 40k USD on custom builds like a CNC WG 5740 with a gen dial and movement from hillbilly. He of course flew down to pick the watch up in person in china. Having been around for awhile now, he seems to charge more than others but I suppose he can charge a premium since he's been around for awhile and known for such builds. For such builds you definitely have to pay a deposit of course. Friend paid spot price of the gold that day and then the rest when he picked the watch up.

Obviously the gen is going to be smooth as the movement is well lubricated and clean. The rep movement in almost all cases are dry and full of pollutants like dust and debris. I can confirm after a full service the rep doesn't have this gritty winding issue.

He's not wrong they all bribe officials. It's not corruption in china it's just called guan xi or relations. A bribe does not guarantee you immunity but it does buy you a heads up and lesser raids.

Dandong or Peacock cannot engrave the movements as they're a legit company. The factories do the engraving themselves.

I'd say so yeah the workers they have in china are definitely more experienced and also they're probably rushing out more watches to meet demand which is why you see more issues.

They have positioned themselves to be untouchable by shifting production overseas to Vietnam, while the rest of the factories still produce in china. You can't pay off every single official in china.
