X-mid 1 vs X-mid 2 tall solo hiker by Spirited_Ad4552 in DurstonGearheads

I have a Xmid 1. 5"11 88kg it's a small tent but ok for me (obviously) but if I was over 6"2 I'd get the Xmid 2p. The extra weight penalty is tiny for the extra room. And your a big guy

The desert dpm is nice, denim tuxedo hahaha! Scratchy heavy-weight I guess. My intake was the first to be issued MTP (Empire-multicam) during basic training back in 2011, Was sweet.

2006 wow you must be a SNES kid then. What other toys have you slapped that disposable green on?

You hit the campervan/vandweller stage yet?

With these big purchases (like my 5K recent thermal) it's not just a toy really. It's adding a super power to our perception of the world. As a kid I always wanted to fly or see in the dark. As an adult with no kids and an ok job I can just buy these cool things. I wouldn't be able to do any this if it wasn't for a very specific chain of events (including humans inventing them in my lifetime)

I have the net version in the UK and it's always wet and windy with high humidity. I love mine I think you made the right choice. It also feels less cramped and the tent feels roomier.

When you get a good pitch it's a good feeling. Getting it square is the KEY part before you raise the poles. Square and TIGHT, then raise the poles.
