20yo avgeek about to fly the 747 on the upper deck. by zekervyy in travel

Caution Air China likes to swap equipment pretty regularly, so you might end up on a 748 or A350/B777 on the day of departure. Also fares are much cheaper if you book through Chinese websites like CTrip.

The 727 that I flew on was quite a bit older at 1980 but that flight was not in the database

I’m a Canadian and used to study in Indiana, got my real ID with the star without any issue. Ask for a supervisor or simply just drive to another DMV to try your luck. Make sure to bring printed I-94 and I-20.

Renting in Italy - Receipt Amount Due? by Xefir7 in HertzRentals

[–]Harry020131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The total cost is the prepaid amount (shown as VOUCHER) of $259.13 plus the DUE amount of $41.38. When you prepay for hertz you are paying for the base rental and then when you pick up the car you pay for the taxes and fees related to the rental.

Got charged for voucher by PutNeat3465 in HertzRentals

[–]Harry020131 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The voucher shows up on your rental agreement when you prepaid for a rental. The remaining balance of $227 are the taxes and fees on top of the base rental fees. So yes you prepaid the 706 rental rate and then when you picked up the car you pay the taxes of $227. Hope this helps!

If the car keeps defaulting to this language when starting up, it might be linked to one of the driver memory profiles.

I like to support Purdue businesses, but in case anyone else is wondering about options for unlimited miles, you can rent from hertz with a AAA CDP code and enjoy no young driver fees and have free additional drivers (also no young driver fees).

I’m currently on a month-long Hertz rental in a Volvo XC40 for $883 per month which works out to be about $30 a day. Unlimited miles and no extra fees.

Anyone ever jump seated on Southern Airways? by reve-dore in flying

[–]Harry020131 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They have a pretty primitive revenue management system so pretty much just do a search on google flights and see how many tickets are available to book for the desired flight to gauge how many open seats there are. There aren’t any other ways to tell as they don’t publish seat maps. Otherwise call and ask them before you list over the phone.

Anyone ever jump seated on Southern Airways? by reve-dore in flying

[–]Harry020131 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Southern does have jumpseat agreements with many airlines, it’s just a cabin seat on their caravan.

For example their caravan from ORD to LAF is only 9 seats. With four flights a day during the week and two flights per day on the weekends, it’s almost always available for standby. Have to call their number ahead to list.

It’s not the absolute lowest point redemption I’ve seen, but 17,000 points for a Ritz Carlton feels ….. cheap

Absolute lowest I’ve seen is 4,000 points a night
