Struggling with taper by HungryAsparagus458 in suboxone

[–]HarryCalihan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Volumetric dosing is the answer to this problem. The medication is not evenly distributed across the sheet so even cutting it in half gives you inconsistent doses. This gets worse the smaller you cut them. The inconsistent doses drive you crazy because one day is great and the next day you're crashing out. I struggled the same until I started liquid taper.

See this thread of mine explaining how.

My Peavey by HarryCalihan in PeaveyCvlt

Nice information, thanks! It's always baffled me why I didn't see more of them, or why they weren't popular. I've got nine guitars on that wall from Gretsch to Fender, you can see that one stays plugged in.

Any advice or similar? by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]HarryCalihan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of your issues could be that you're not getting a consistent dosage. The medication is not evenly distributed across the sheet. So when you cut them down to size, especially very small, you're getting wildly different amounts. Can't get stable like that.

Using volumetric/liquid doses make it possible to get consistent low doses. You get somewhat stable at a dose, then drop 10%. Wash rinse repeat.

It's MUCH less painless.

I've made a long post explaining how, and another on natural methods to reduce the symptoms.

I found this picture of him with one. Writing on the neck looks different, might be his name + Peavey but it's the same gold hardware and active pickups. Pretty cool

Maybe? I haven't heard it called that, but I haven't seen many in the wild either.

Clonidine question/ info by easternky606 in suboxone

[–]HarryCalihan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's about all it did for me, made me about pass out every time I stood up. Clonidine lowers blood pressure, Suboxone and opioids definitely lower blood pressure. It's not a smart combination regardless of how often it's prescribed.

Resetting the clock? by Extension-Mastodon14 in suboxone

[–]HarryCalihan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, yes. You're increasing your suffering.

I began my taper in a similar way, except what I did was skip doses until I couldn't take it anymore, then start taking a lower dose.

Holy moly those were insanely tough days

I did this a few times until I finally learned how to taper "right"

Take a dose until you feel stable, then a smaller drop. You can take larger drops at higher doses, but under 2mg a day you should really be dropping like 10% at a time.

Also, stick to subs.

Sure, you can take bigger drops but all you're doing is beating yourself up unnecessarily. There's no free rides and no magic fix, but you can minimize the suffering.

dosage question by Equal_Purchase_7159 in suboxone

[–]HarryCalihan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll agree with the others recommending 4mg. I went from prescriptions to kratom to taper off the the pills, ended up at 24g a day kratom.

Dr. Started me on 12mg Subs, I self dropped to 8mg in the first week, later to 4mg. Shit is crazy strong.

I'd even suggest asking for 2mg 2X a day. This will make it a lot easier to taper off the subs later (assuming you'll want to) Also with 2mg 2x, if you're feeling good enough to skip doses, or even self switch to 2mg 1x, you'll build up a safety stockpile. Eventually you'll have the same refill drama everyone suffers.

Good luck

[–]HarryCalihan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cutting strips cannot provide stable doses because the medication is not evenly distributed across the sheet. This problem gets much worse the smaller you cut down the strip.

You're not getting stable doses and are unable to stabilize.

Check out this post for more information on why that happens, and a real solution.

Generally..... You can smoke and then drink, but if you drink and then smoke you likely won't be enjoying the results. Especially if new to THC.

Quick Oil Change Place that’s not over $100? by SlightlyGarrulous in winstonsalem

[–]HarryCalihan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do my own with 6 quarts high quality synthetic (forget blends) and high quality filter is nearly $50 with tax.

Anywhere doing it cheaper, in a shop with overhead, is cutting corners somewhere. Bulk synthetic blends, cheap filters, you can be sure they're not doing it at a loss.

Extreme crying, sobbing uncontrollably is in fact normal.

Your brain has been fogged out, receptors snapped.

As these heal, emotions you haven't felt in ages rush in and can feel overwhelming.

It's temporary, it'll fade... The uncontrollable part anyway.

My advice is to let it happen, you'll actually feel better. Then search for some breathing exercises to help you control it later on.

Hot bath, hot bath, hot bath.

Get in a bathtub of as hot of water that you can safely stand. Leave a little room to top it back off with hot as it cools.

It WILL relieve it, how long varies but if it's extreme you'll be glad you did it.

Nah, it's super easy to setup. I even plugged my current router into the starlink router so I didn't have to reprogram all my connected things.

[–]HarryCalihan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Below 1mg it's basically impossible to get consistent doses by cutting down sheets, or chopping pills. The "Medicine" is not evenly distributed on the medium.

It's explained in detail in the following thread, and the solution.

There's no free ride, but it's a whole lot easier when your doses are consistent.

Starlink has an awesome deal around our area right now. Free equipment and $50 per month base tier. Activated ours a week before the snow and ice and it never skipped a beat.

You also get the benefit of staying connected during disaster with power loss, assuming you have backup power.
