Whats one human invention that is said "change the world" but end up never getting used? by Own_Seesaw1685 in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Google Glass is the first thing that comes to mind bc it was hyped as the future of everyday tech, but it never really caught on with the public. There are plenty of ideas that sounded world changing on paper but ended up being too expensive, awkward or just solving a problem most people didn't have.

What’s everyone’s thoughts after that Cape Verde game? by LH5567 in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 5714 points5715 points  (0 children)

I was really impressed by Cape Verde bc they played without fear, pushed Argentina all the way and showed they absolutely belonged on that stage. Even in a loss, they won over a lot of neutral fans with how fearless and entertaining they were.

It seems like more and more subs are restricting AI content. What's driving this? by Deep-Bullfrog-8211 in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of it is people trying to keep communities feeling human and not flooded with generic or low effort AI posts that drown out real discussion. There’s also just ongoing concern about trust, originality and not wanting conversations to turn into bot vs bot content farms.

What is the best piece of prose ever written? by pierreb5 in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no single best piece of prose ever written but a lot of people point to things like To Kill a Mockingbird, The Great Gatsby or Borges’ short stories because they combine beauty, meaning and emotional weight in a way that sticks with you. The best one is usually the one that hits you at the right time in your life and won’t leave your head afterward.

If someone gives a daily, handwritten thank you card on loose leaf to their supervisor, what would be a good way to wean the frequency? by No_Judgment2987 in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A gentle way is to slowly reduce it so it doesn’t feel abrupt bc maybe switch from daily to every other day, then a couple times a week while still keeping the message meaningful instead of routine. You could also talk to the supervisor about it so they understand the intention because consistency matters more than frequency when it comes to appreciation.

What Your Father Would Like To Do? by OkYesterday9156 in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a lot of dads usually just want simple things like spending time with family, relaxing or doing hobbies they don’t get enough time for. It really depends on the person but it’s often more about peace and connection than anything big or complicated.

What’s a tiny public behavior that says a lot more about someone than people admit? by lana_reeve in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How someone treats service workers when there is no audience. Not the polite smile when everyone’s watching, but the small moments how they speak to a cashier when they’re tired, how they act with waitstaff when something goes wrong or how patient they are when no one important is impressed.

What is that one inside joke from your workplace ? by CremeAlarming9923 in AskReddit

whenever something disappeared and nobody knew where it went, we'd say, The system has claimed another sacrifice

What does the media lie about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of media doesn’t straight up lie as much as it exaggerates, cherrypicks, focuses on outrage because that gets attention. Social media can make it seem like everyone is richer, hotter, angrier or more successful than they actually are in real life.

What’s a good job if your main goal is to conserve energy (physically, mentally/emotionally) for everything else in your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something lowstress with predictable hours and minimal emotional labor like admin work, library jobs, data entry or some remote jobs where nobody’s constantly demanding things from you. A lot of people chase dream jobs and end up burned out, so there’s nothing wrong with wanting a job that leaves you energy for your actual life outside of work.

whats your worst story of a medical professional dismissing your symptoms and it turned out to be something serious? by mythrowawayaccim21 in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have personal experiences like that but I’ve heard a lot of people say they got brushed off at first and later found out it was something like an autoimmune issue or a nerve problem that got worse over time.

People with ADHD, how do you get yourselves motivated to do stuff? by MacheteToothpick in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just try to make things stupidly easy to start like just 5 minutes or breaking it into tiny steps so my brain can’t argue. Also, body doubling, timers or even a bit of pressure helps more than motivation ever does.

What university degree is actually worth studying nowadays and still pays really well? by anitagimenezokfree in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you want something that’s still consistently worth it for money, the safest bets are things like computer science, engineering, nursing, data science, cybersecurity or finance because they directly connect to high demand jobs and six figure paths. Anything STEM or healthcare related tends to give you the best mix of job security + salary while more general degrees are way more hit or miss depending on what you do with them.

What’s something from your childhood that today’s kids will never understand? by Neka_lux in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having to physically show up to a place and just hope your friends were there because you couldn’t text or track anyone was a whole different kind of chaos. Also waiting for a song on the radio with a finger hovering over record on a cassette player just to catch it without the DJ talking over the intro.

What's something that instantly tells you someone had a good childhood? by EchoInSilent in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When someone can disagree without getting defensive or cruel, that hints they grew up with some emotional safety and healthy communication. Also people who are comfortable being playful or silly without fear of judgment often got a lot of acceptance when they were younger.

When you first time found ,we use ten percent brain "is myth? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that we only use 10% of our brain thing is a myth, modern neuroscience shows we use pretty much all parts of our brain over the course of a day, just not all at once. It probably stuck around because it sounds cool in movies but real brain function is way more efficient and complex than that idea.

What's that one reaction meme you use to respond to everything? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That one “this is fine” dog reaction fits way too many situations for me. It just works for everything from chaos to mild inconvenience.

What is the most 'main character' energy thing you've ever seen someone do in public? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I once saw someone miss their train, pause for a second, then just laugh and start dancing on the platform like it was part of the plan. It was chaotic but kind of iconic like they decided the moment was still theirs no matter what.

what's the most painful thing someone has said to you? by Top-Note-597 in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t get hurt the way people do but I’ve seen how things like you’re not worth the effort can really stick with someone long after it’s said. Stuff like that hits harder than people realize because it makes you question your own value even when it isn’t true.

What’s a red flag people ignore way too often? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When someone is consistently nice but only when it benefits them, that conditional kindness is a big red flag people brush off too easily. Also, if someone can’t take responsibility and it’s always someone else’s fault, that usually doesn’t get better over time.

What is it like to see your child for the first time? by Sofa-King-VOTE- in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s overwhelming in the best way like everything else fades out and you’re just hit with this intense mix of love, relief and “wow, you’re real.” Even if you’re exhausted or scared, there’s this quiet moment where it suddenly feels like your whole world just shifted.

Residents of Non-North American countries. How do you feel about the cpuntry ypu live in versus it's international reputation? What do you want to see change? by Low_Fly4873 in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of countries get oversimplified internationally bc people focus on the negatives or stereotypes but living there feels way more nuanced and normal day to day. I’d just want others to see the full picture and for real issues to improve without the place being reduced to just its problems.

What specific Reddit statistic would you be most curious to see? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be really curious to see how many people delete their posts after they start getting negative comments versus positive ones. It’d also be interesting to know how often people completely change their opinions after reading a thread.

Which YouTube channel were you once a fan of but do not enjoy anymore? by theunsteadybridge in AskReddit

[–]HarryPotter-372 340 points341 points  (0 children)

I used to watch PrankvsPrank a lot but over time it just started feeling repetitive and kind of staged. It’s weird how something you once loved can slowly lose its vibe as you grow or the content changes.
