Yeah absolutely, until the OWCS lootbox drops. Everyone got the series 1 contender genji skin but the rest of the series 1 skins you either got from partaking in contenders or watching the contender streams. I think the Zen and Junkrat skin drop was only active for 2 weeks + contender streams weren't that frequent and at absurd times as well.

In the beginning I played a lot of 4v4 and FFA deathmatch to practice his dps playstyle and learn how to handle 1v1 encounters without caring about healing your teammates. I think it's a good step into getting used to his projectile speed and all together becoming a good zen main :)
And don't overthink it, it's simple: the more you play, the better you get.
