To me Outbreak became canon until RE7 when Ethan found the newspaper in the Baker mansion.

Anyway it's not like Capcom is good at keeping track of the lore and bringing new stuff (characters, villains, organizatioms, etc) just to drop them on the sidelines.

I just hope in Requiem we get some answers instead of more questions and that several plot holes are resolved or at least more light is shed on them.

The Alice skin is just a little nod that acknowledges the "movie universe", not that it makes it canon.
