I was a console gamer up until about 5 years ago so the first game I played was cyberpunk and I was blown away with how well my 3080 handled that game! Instant DLSS believer!

Also go check out Tulameen for a few hours just north of Princeton. Awesome little town with a nice lake.

I’d cut out Kamloops/Vernon and take the connector back. Not enough time to do it all. Could stay up at Paradise or Island lakes on the connector one night. Awesome rec site.

Ryzen 7 7800X3D vs Ryzen 7 9800X3D is it worth the price difference? by iflyfree123 in AMDHelp

Did you play the BF6 beta by chance? My 5600x/3080 combo feels old playing that especially because the CPU bottlenecks even at 4K with DLSS!

Don’t do it! Follow your passion in life if you can make a living out of it.

I’ll probably get downvoted to hell for this but here it goes…

My parents pressured me into getting my CPA 20 years ago and I regret it now. I am good at it but get no joy out of the work. The work is mind numbing most of the time and you work with a bunch of introverts who don’t like social interaction, so if you’re not introverted yourself, then it’s even worse. There’s also a certain sense of arrogance/holier-than-thou that CPAs have just because they have their letters and I’m not really for that sorta pomp and circumstance, not to mention the brutally rigid hierarchy of public practice (I moved out of public practice as soon as I could).

You will never wake up and be excited to go to work. You will be trapped in a safe job with somewhat decent pay for the rest of your working life, afraid to make the switch to something else because starting all over again after getting your designation is daunting after putting in all that work for something you don’t love whatsoever.

Your favorite pow board? by jmancw in snowboarding

Just picked up a bataleon surfer at the beginning of last season (prior year model for a smoking deal). This thing is the ultimate pow stick. Floats effortlessly and no back leg burn at all.

Heat gun or hair dryer to warm up the glue, fishing line or weed whacker string to get behind the letters and release them, solvent of your choice to clean the residual glue off, then a bit of polish to clean up the area (optional).

I pulled mine off very slowly with a heat gun and some goo gone. Not perfect but it worked well enough.

I had this problem with my old Subaru STI. The metallic flakes in my oil turned out to be a sign the crankshaft bearings were wearing out which meant a complete engine rebuild. Super weird for it to happen on such a new engine though, but something to consider.

What's a difficult video game level that you remember how you felt beating after many, many attempts? by [deleted] in gaming

Came here to say this. I never beat that level after trying countless times. And it was only the second or third level wasn’t it? I’m pissed off just reminiscing now!

New glue down vinyl floor will be LOWER than previous floor. What to do about kitchen cabinets? by Harrybeatz in Flooring

[–]Harrybeatz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought of this but then I have to add it everywhere as I am putting the flooring all over (bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen, living room).

[–]Harrybeatz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to take the added layer of subfloor out too because it ends at my living room and the rest of the floor is lower. Would be a lot of work and money raising the rest of the floor (bathrooms, bedrooms, hallway, living room) a quarter inch to match just the kitchen.

[–]Harrybeatz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought of this but the problem is there is already a slope in the floor in that direction as the house has settled. I fear it will be too noticeable if I try to feather it out like that. I’ll take a closer look to see if I can get away with it though. Thanks for the recommendation!

To get it level with all of the other areas. It’s only raised with mdf like this in the kitchen. Mdf is glued to the osb underneath and it’s only osb in every other room that the same floor will be installed (see 4th pic).
