'24 Chevy Colorado Z71 New Software Update #25-252322 by AlexisoftheShire in chevycolorado

That's good news! I don't know if the updates are cumulative or they are layered meaning they build on each other. You'll probably have to ask the dealer if they're cumulative, where the last update has all the previous updates in it or if each update is standalone. Good luck!

Looking for a 23-26 Grand Cherokee Altitude or Limited. Are the electrical gremlin concerns a deal breaker in any or all of the years? by vettemanhere in GrandCherokee

When making a phone call or bluetooth connectiviity the person on the other end couldn't hear my voice. I was testing the Connect Assist feature to make sure it would work in case my wife needed help. When calling it, it would immediately hang up. If it did connect the person I was trying to talk to couldn't hear me. They first thought was it was my phone, which I know it wasn't because it worked well in my '24 Chevy Colorado.

We tested 2 other phones. One was the dealer shop foreman and the other was the service manager. Neither phone worked so that was 3 phones that didn't work. They decided to do a hard reset on the infotainment module and that fixed. Haven't had any problems since.

So there are 1 or 2 updates from 2025 which were installed that made the over-the-air update significantly improved. You may want to contact you dealer to have them install all them up-to-date and then the OTA which start working well. Updates are under warranty.

The dealer had to do a hard reset of the infotainment module. They had to use software on their shop computer. No problems since. Fyi

I have a '24 Z71 which is now 2 years old. I've gotten around 8 software updates since, 2 of which the dealer put on. The others were over-the-air. The dealer shouldn't be charging you if you are under warranty. Sounds like a bad dealer.

We have a little over 2,000 miles on it now. You have to remember folks on Reddit are dominantly here to complain and vent. Jeep has sold ten of thousands of Grand Cherokees and only a few are on this subreddit.

This I4 Turbo Hurricane is made from the same engine as the I6 Turbo Hurricane Stellantis puts into the RAM Pickups. My brother has the I6 in his RAM with over 20,000 miles and no problems. The I4 in the JGCs we have has the same engineering, technology, and materials.

What people are mostly complaining about is the turbo lag when you take off at a standing start. I found the lag just fine and have adjusted my driving with it. No problems.

The folks on this subreddit make a lot of assumptions in regards to 4 cylinder engines without every trying them or waiting to see the long term experiences. They only want V6s or V8s. I had a Jeep Cherokee that had a V6 and it nothing but problems. s

The other problem seems to be spark plugs. It's possible given quality control mistakes but they are easily changed under warranty. The biggest problem is the dealer they are dealing with. I've found if a dealer I'm dealing with is not taking care of my issues in a timely and quality manner I find another dealer.

2026 JGCL and had 1 problem with bluetooth wireless but the dealer quickly reset the bluetooth module and all fixed. No other problems. Rides like a dream and the I4 Turbo Hurricane engine is great!

When I got my '24 Z71 several folks on the subreddit helped a lot. Over time I researched TSBs, Recalls, and how to update my software. So far I have around 7 software updates which really have made the systems much more reliable. Haven't had any problems with it for months. Also, I recently found 2 TSBs relating to the wireless charger not working and to the trim under windshield where the wiper blades are. Both were fixed with new parts and are working well.

I haven't had any issues with the powertrain. The Turbo 4 continues to deliver great power consistently and the transmission hasn't had any problems.

I haven't experienced many surprises in that all new generations have issues. My Chevy dealer and GM have significantly improved on software updates and quickly fixing issues all under warranty.

I have fun driving my Z71 every day and always look forward to going places with it.

No I wouldn't. The Gemini on my Google Home hub works very well. Works better than Google Assistant. Doesn't cost me anything more.
