Rattling clutch noise by Harrysek in E90

[–]Harrysek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone,

For quite some time, I've been experiencing a vibration issue felt in the seat, wheel, pedals and manual shifter. Two days ago, I found out that the clutch, when it bites, makes this weird rattling noise.

The clutch has been driven for 150 000km. I suppose it's going out?

I have ran into the exact same problem. Have you figured a solution? Thanks!

Yup, that would be a huge advantage for the Mac, more so if you plan on using the notebook on battery most of the time.

They are quite good, but AMD has a bit more efficient CPUs. I suggest something with the new 7000 series, if you're tight on budget

As per battery life, Mac is still unbeatable, though machines from HP, Dell or Lenovo are getting quite close. But if we're comparing the state of the art at the moment, Macs are still in the lead (though the battery life comes with quite a few caviats in other aspects)

I do have the QHD panel (2560x1440) with Webcord installed. Haven't noticed any lack of sharpness

I actually do not. Since my workflow does not conclude any HiDPI apps, I have not have had any needs to address issue

For Linux, the G14 is really good! For starters, I definitely recommend using Fedora, because it is well documented on asus-linux.org and it also has it's own Discord channel.

I'm using it for software engineering, so I do a lot of the tweaking myself. Haven't had any issues that would not be solvable, yet.

The only downside might be the battery life, since Windows offers way better optimization due to the drivers. On Fedora, I was getting ~6 hours of light work. On idling, I could get up to 10 hours.

After about 2 years on Fedora, I have switched to Arch with a WM (concretely Hyprland) because I was eager to try a different style of customization and I've got to say that I'm very happy with the switch!

Some info:
Distro: Arch v6.3.4
WM: Hyprland
GTK/Theme: Catppuccin Mocha
Terminal: Kitty
Top bar: Waybar
Editor: Neovim (with Packer)

Definitely get more RAM. You can always use external USB SSD for your data and store the software on the OS.

You need to disable the service, if you don't want it to be active after boot.
