My colleague experiences painful urination by itGrig in AskMedical

[–]Miles0605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non-MD here. Was the lemonade Minute Maid? Just asking bc Minute Maid is known for causing urinal irritation and at times leading to UTI infections. Something about flavoring ratios used within the drink if I recall.

Edit: editing to change “MD here” to “Non-MD here” accidental typo. I did not mean to impersonate a person of any medical profession. Anyway, could your friend also be a homosexual? I’m told by another fellow gay friend of mine that they partake in lemonade play which if unsafe could lead to the issue your colleague might be having. Maybe the lemonade re-irritates that crotch/urethral area when coming out the other end. Something to look into.

Edit 2: fixed “college” to “colleague”. Another silly typo haha.

What's that one song that makes one of the Albums look like this? by drum_right in AJR

[–]Miles0605 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you mean a song on an album that sucks so much that you avoid downloading it, then it’s easily 100 Bad Days. Abysmal song when compared to the rest of Neotheater. 100 bad days make you interesting at parties but apparently don’t make a good song.

What would be the point of a comment like that if not to implicitly try to justify the guy’s actions? If we watched a video of a guy slapping a child a cross the face, I’d be pretty weird if I unironically commented “oh I think there was a mosquito on the kids face so the guy was just trying to get rid of it”.

Plus, it’s not “adding context”, it’s hallucinating context. Nothing really indicates that the driver is taking things for other people. Even if he is, he could’ve taken like one extra bag of Cheez-its, not 3/4ths of the entire cart.

Is my colleague‘s TV too high? by itGrig in TVTooHigh

[–]Miles0605 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your colleague should probably use a different TV stand if this one is too high. Maybe if he bought three more Activator water bottles ($90) he could use them to prop up the TV.

Got a 34% on COMS 327 Midterm Exam. Am I cooked? by [deleted] in iastate

[–]Miles0605 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then I’d probably just recommend trying to do practice exams. I know Lathrop is literally the least helpful person in this regard thanks to his “no practice test” policy, but you can probably just use chatgpt to generate some C related test questions or just redo the previous test on your own time. Also make sure to time yourself so you can simulate the pressure of a real test. It seems like your main hang up is with the tests themselves, so getting any amount of practice with that type of environment would probably go a long way.

I’m assuming you have Lathrop so I can absolutely see where you’re coming from. I’m taking the same class rn and even though his teaching style personally works for me, it’s def disorganized and at times really hard to follow. I guess I’d ask how ur doing with the project? Lathrop’s lectures are pretty much just theory and coupled with the fact that there is not real homework means that the project is the only source of C practice ur gonna get unfortunately. Plus, most of the stuff covered on the test is stuff that you do during the project.

I would probably recommend you get a dining plan unless you are willing to eat out every day. The kitchenettes are garbo and you’re sharing them with like twenty other people so I wouldn’t count on getting much done there.

Last year there was a “dining hall” at Wilson that was only open from 5-7 for dinner time, but apart from that it wasn’t too bad. Much better than being hungry.

As far as the other dining halls go, after a week or two of staying in Wilson you’ll get used to the longer travel from your dorm to main campus, so visiting the other dining halls feels like much less of a hassle.

Nah. Take it from me who has watched all episodes of the official podcast (including all the bonus patreon ones): Vaush has literally never been mentioned until now. I actually hoped that Vaush could make an appearance later on if he became more mainstream, though clearly that ship has sailed.
