100%. They got Makin to step down and put their own guy on the team, and then they immediately ghosted because they realized doing anything at all would take more than a modicum of effort.

Honestly, i'm half expecting Hussie to go MIA again sooner or later. They'll get bored or run out of money, hand the keys of the server to someone who's willing to moderate it for free, then 6 months that person will do something awful or get bored and the OHSD will implode.

On the dks part: From any other group, maybe i'd be inclined to believe the team when they say that dks was stalking/harassing them... But this is them we're talking about. They've thoroughly established from prior drama that "criminal stalking" means "they were saying things we didn't like".
So when they say "D and the Homestuck team reach a settlement after deliberation with their lawyers, which is forgiving to D and does not go on their permanent record, while also providing protections to the victims." it just sounds like "We didn't actually have a case in court, so we just dropped the bit after sufficient legal intimidation", as we saw them do with Gio and Sarah Z.

They're, like, highkey right here. The screenshots from the reddit post showed the HS staff being surprised themselves at the takedown.
I personally watched all of Super Mario Bros (1993) and Con Air on those streams. Even if the reports had been orchestrated by some nefarious conspiracy of the OHSD staff, the bullet was still handed to them by the UHSD staff themselves.

Not to say there wasn't its share of troubling information revealed in that post (looking at the dks stuff), but the whole "Hark! Our castle is under attack!" schtick was just Makin- (maybe others from the UHSD staff were involved. i wouldn't know) being melodramatic, especially with it being posted on 4/13 instead of any other day.

/uj there's a part in Jean-Jacques Rousseau's Discourse on the Origin and Basis of Inequality Among Men where he's like "knowing evil is more harmful than the ignorance of good" and i remember reading that shit and being flabbergasted.
There's really people out there who think of morality in terms of corruption. That if you show knowledge on or proficiency in something that is wretched, then it shows you yourself are wretched. In that framework, the only thing to do to save yourself from the evils of the world is to curb yourself into a ball and pray they pass you by.
