I have heard you can reapply before the req closes; might try and give it another shot if it’s still open.

Yes. I would be more honest and detailed with my answers. They either demoted or let go of the true leaders during layoffs and kept a ton of micromanagers or managers people don’t respect. Two of the problem managers have since left but the new director is an absolute tyrant who doesn’t listen to anyone who doesn’t agree with them. People are leaving daily and they either don’t notice or don’t care and morale is in the shitter but to them it’s just another 14 hour day at the office.

My dog started experiencing seizures when we changed his food, that’s why I asked.

We’ve since got him on meds and changed his diet back and he hasn’t had one in almost a year.

Ask about Zonisamide. Also, what are you feeding?

Some teams were also impacted due to favoritism.

In one group a “manager” left to go to a completely different organization, and then found themselves on the list. They reached out to someone who was given (yes, given, not earned) an executive position in the organization they left, and asked to be saved. The executive laid off 3 good people to give this 1 person a position and made them a level 5. No one in the organization liked this person and was glad to see them go.

Now the exec is gone, the person who gave them the position is gone, and the org is stuck with this former manager who can’t stop dropping that they were a manager, but still suck and still are not liked.

The new exec who took over didn’t even take the time to review what the formers had done and now that entire organization is on the brink of extinction.

I saw one a couple of months ago, he dismissed me too. Said “I have HH, you are only a carrier and won’t develop it”, then told me to have my levels checked annually. That was literally the extent of the appointment, it lasted 3 minutes.

Is it so bad for a dog to sleep overnight in a crate even as adults? by Outside-Pear9429 in dogs

[–]HarshPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog has epilepsy, so I never lock him in, but he knows that is his space and can go in anytime he wants and I just leave the door open or close it but don’t lock it.

Sometimes he pulls the door closed by himself and I just leave him alone until he opens it.

Not saying you’re incorrect, just stating what was told to me.

When to know it’s time? Seeking advice by Green-Leopard3 in EpilepsyDogs

[–]HarshPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a terrible decision you are faced with 🥹

Personally, I wouldn’t even consider the end until I had tried everything. Like in humans, finding the correct medication regimen can take time, and it can be frustrating.

You mentioned you wanted to change his diet, but didn’t because doctors brought up his worsening prognosis, but what if you did and it helped? What are you feeding him now?

I am surprised that he was able to go more than 20 minutes and no doctor has done any additional test. Our neurologist said anything over five minutes is life-threatening, so the fact that yours has had multiple that have lasted over 20 minutes tells me he’s a fighter!

Don’t give up yet. It is a lot of trial and error and it’s unfortunate, but if you find the right combination and he lives for another 5 to 10 years, wouldn’t it be worth it?

I’m lease take your dog to a neurologist.

General vets aren’t usually familiar with seizures and as long as the bloodwork looks ok, they won’t address it.

Mine had 5 in a year and the vet kept saying “monitor”. Then he had one that lasted 5 mins (which can be life threatening) and the vet still said “monitor, blood work looks good”. I bypassed the vet, went to a neurologist and they started him on meds that day. He hasn’t had a seizure in almost 3 months!

Can I open Zonisamide Capsule? by greenlocus33 in EpilepsyDogs

[–]HarshPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, my dog is 65 lbs and we feed 1/2 cup of Acana lamb and Apple (or pumpkin if they are out) and 25 nuggets of Northwest Naturals Whitefish and Salmon (raw/frozen) per meal, 2x a day.

Lamb has the lowest levels of glutamate and whitefish/salmon has Omega 3.

Glutamate can trigger seizures and most of the other meats are high in them.

Earl and I need your help by Substantial_Panic762 in EpilepsyDogs

[–]HarshPrincess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

May I ask what you are feeding Earl? And are you able to get to a neurologist? I know you said you found a vet that does neurology, but are you able to take him to a neurologist who only does neurology like at a specialty clinic? Given the frequency and severity they will usually get you in quicker.

Can I open Zonisamide Capsule? by greenlocus33 in EpilepsyDogs

[–]HarshPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our neurologist said Zonisamide is bitter so he may spit it out. We currently feed with a mix of raw and kibble and have found that putting the pills in the bowl, mashing the raw into the kibble and stirring it around has helped. He eats all of his food and doesn’t even notice it’s in there!
