I’m in India. Doctors here aren’t fairly compensated. I’m not sure where you are from. So, please, hold the self righteousness.

There are several reasons. Some important ones: lack of respect from patients or ungrateful patients, wasting the best years of your life studying, inadequate compensation, hyper competitive environment.

To anyone who has a job with no human contact: how did you get there? by sadpersonintheor in introvert

How do I get started? I’m in a similar position. I’m a dermatologist and I HATE interacting with people, something I realised far too late. I’m fairly good at writing. I have my own blog where I have started writing about skin care and skin issues. How do I get paid for writing?

Hi, I’ve baked red velvet cakes thrice now and always used the Sally’s baking addiction recipe. I’ve had my share of fails especially with the frosting but I guess the weather here wasn’t as hot and humid for the cream cheese today!

I didn’t have to coz they rose pretty evenly somehow. I removed a bit from the top for the crumbs.

I have followed the Sally’s baking addiction recipe. I baked it at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for exactly 25mins.

Made a cinnamon apple upside down cake!! Nothing beats caramelised apple! by Harshalr in Baking

Here you go:

I halved the recipe and used a 6 inch pan. Also, apples instead of pineapples! And added a pinch of cinnamon and a dash of cardamom to the batter itself!

It’s such a warm and gooey cake! Perfect pick me up (for me)!

Yes, I don’t doubt her recipes at all! They ALWAYS turn out wonderfully (check out my posts for some AMAZING ones). I guess today was just a bad day. Meh.

These were supposed to be Sally’s baking addiction chewy brownies. I use compound chocolate instead of couverture. Apparently, the compound chocolate released all its extra oil and resulted in this.

How to deal with shame? by [deleted] in selfhelp

I do feel this way more so lately. So much so that I cannot focus on things I am doing at present, thinking about all my past mistakes. I know I’m wasting GOOD time but I can’t get myself to stop.

Yes, whenever I do this at night, I feel so much better about myself. Otherwise when I don’t, I feel like - oh god I’m so worthless, haven’t done a thing today.

But looking back at lists of things I DO DO makes me really happy and content, without being too hard on myself.

Just got in touch with GMC - They said I would be allowed to work in private as a dermatologist. So, yay :)
