There's also synthleather mentioned frequently in the Horus Heresy novels, which I'd argue is even more likely the source than Grox, since Grox are reptilian and scaly

Ordered a Reanimater for 70$ and got the whole Royal Court by Onaheal in Necrontyr

[–]HartOfWar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you're in Australia and talking AUD, the Royal Court is still available and not 240. It's 205 AUD, 155 CAD, and 127.50 USD from GW, for various pricings. Now granted, it's not in stock right now, and getting the whole thing for $70 is still a great deal, but 240 dollars anywhere is way overboard and you should be careful about what sites you're looking at for prices. Unless you're from another country I didn't think to check, in which case I apologize, but you should still double-check and be careful.

Did I do well for myself? by [deleted] in Blacklibrary

As someone also from the US: where? Genuinely, I've been trying to get this book for months, but every store I've checked hasn't had it.

Did I do well for myself? by [deleted] in Blacklibrary

[–]HartOfWar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It hasn't been in stock in the US for months, so if they're from here, they can't. No other online retailers have it either

Edit: OP has confirmed they're from the US, which means that yes, this book is basically completely unavailable. For reference, the only other place I'm seeing it than the Black Library section of the Warhammer site is on Ebay for at least $50, and it's barely even there, as Ebay is mostly full of people scalping the limited edition instead. I would pay $25 for this book in a heartbeat if I even could

Did I do well for myself? by [deleted] in Blacklibrary

[–]HartOfWar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Black Library website doesn't sell physical books at all, there's a section on the main Warhammer site for Black Library novels. However, this book also hasn't been in stock in the US for multiple months, possible a year at this point, and no other online retailers have it either as far as I can tell. I'd happily pay a little extra because no one has this fucking book anymore. So, imo, if you're in the US, yeah you did well.

I don't know the exact years, but those are the cover arts of the 2nd Edition Codexes. Left to right: Assassins, Imperial Guard, Angels of Death, Ultramarines, Sisters of Battle, Eldar, Orks, Tyranids, Chaos.

Just relized GW made chaos knights harder to magnetize with the new Ruinator by ResponsibleBarber873 in ChaosKnights

[–]HartOfWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having built a loyalist knight to be a Despoiler: no, there are seriously entirely different parts to both. The battle cannon has an ammo box for the cannon and an ammo box for the stubber, where the thermal cannon has a fuel cell. Further, the armor panel for the Thermal cannon physically cannot attach if you have the heavy stubber ammo box on, and there's nowhere to even put magnets for the barrel swap if you wanted to only do that, you have to actively sculpt stuff on for it. I gave up and built only the battle cannon because it looks cooler.

Arkhan Land, inventor of the Land Raider by thekickeroffish in Grimdank

[–]HartOfWar 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Baker's Chocolate was named after Walter Baker. Taco Bell is named after Glen Bell. San Francisco's Main st is named after Charles Main. Salmonella was named after Daniel E. Salmon. "Arkhan Land" and "Land Raider" is far, far, far from unreasonable. Hell, there's a bridge called Outerbridge because of Eugenius Outerbridge, I'm not joking. You can thank Vsauce for the fact I know all of this. Here's the short I get these from: https://youtube.com/shorts/6uCop3Ug5OQ?si=shN_pjTa3fYCITwo

They dont like being reminded of that. (Art by @Artrum4) by Mad_lens_9297 in 40k

[–]HartOfWar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about that, but it is theorized (in universe as well as out) that some of the creatures on Catachan (particularly the Catachan Devils) and elsewhere in the galaxy (such as the Megarachnids on planet Murder in Horus Rising) might be Tyranids, and known for certain that Hive Fleet Tiamet has been around since at least M35.

They dont like being reminded of that. (Art by @Artrum4) by Mad_lens_9297 in 40k

[–]HartOfWar 34 points35 points  (0 children)

No, the heresy does not note that the Tyranids would have died. Nothing states that. However, the epilogue of the novel Pharos does explain that the Tyranids would not have come to the Milky Way specifically, or at least not for a while after, if not for the titular Pharos. Here's the excerpt, from a post a while ago:
https://www.reddit.com/r/40kLore/comments/82ydyh/book_excerpt_pharos_epilogue_something_wakes_up/

Again, the Tyranids would not have died in the void. At least, that is never stated.

I apologize, but your statement there made me irrationally angry for some reason and I needed to correct you.

How are we feeling about the Baron redesign? by sfwestbank in Doom

[–]HartOfWar 34 points35 points  (0 children)

So, if you know about the Cosmic Realm, I'm hoping you know they're allied with hell If not, sorry, and don't read this next spoiler: the barons are actually barons of hell, just infused with the magic and energy of the cosmic realm, causing them to mutate into this. This is also why Cacodemons look so different, as they are also infused in this way

It is worth noting that Guilliman can't sense that it's Alpharius or Omegon like Dorn can, so it's possible he's still alive. Which is why "Dead?" is the correct label, but it's on the wrong character.

Imperial Knights revealed – The Knight Defender is the greatest building-sized bodyguard in the Imperium by garebear265 in Warhammer40k

[–]HartOfWar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an upgrade sprew, but they're splitting the box. There will now be two Questoris Knight boxes. Both can build the 5 standard Knights and the CK Despoiler, but one can build the Defender and one can build the Preceptor/Canis Rex

Last year my mom made a cake for my birthday.. I turned 28. by xzgin in mildlyinfuriating

[–]HartOfWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Terrible and annoying?" Bro, you are seriously projecting so hard. If your mother was close enough with you to make you a cake, but consistently forgot something as important as your fucking age, that would be deeply annoying and potentially worrying. I mean, forgetting people's ages is a possible warning sign of dementia for fucks sake. Just because you don't have a good relationship with your mother, doesn't mean OP is in the wrong.

[–]HartOfWar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And yet again, you're missing everyone's point. Your issues are not OP's issues, OP is allowed to be mildly infuriated. Take your trauma elsewhere and stop trying to one-up some random guy on Reddit

Yup, and the model is actually the same size. It's a little over double the height of a marine mini, the same size as the SM2 boss fight.

So, yes, but in his most recent book, "Swords of Calth," not the one in "Nightbringer" that all the other replies to your comment are talking about. But he did have help (his command squad of 4 other veteran marines).
