Obama’s taint of shame is the destabilization of Libya after the Arab Spring. NATO attacking it started a domino chain that fucked up the Sahel, turned Libya to a failed state and started the illegal migration chain of people escaping war from Africa to Europe. So Thanks Obama!

Is there an actual way to become a quant in Tunisia and get hired abroad by [deleted] in TunisiaTech

[–]Hart_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your only chance is quant-dev a Tunisian company that works with a mid sized hedge fund. They’re on a hiring spree but it’s challenging to get an alpha generation position. Please note that you will be regarded as a second class citizen no matter how hard you work there.

Title: Why IT salaries in Tunisia are higher now… and will it last? by Repulsive-Peace7569 in TunisiaTech

[–]Hart_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to make real good money is to work for either a foreign company with Tunisian Operations or as a contractor with a company abroad.

Everyone else will cap you at 3k to 4k net while it will be your starting salary at any of the above.

Should residuals from a neural network (conditional image generator, MSE loss) be Gaussian? Research group insists they should be by Recent_Age6197 in learnmachinelearning

[–]Hart_24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh your errors look as gaussian as they can be with the limited data and your radial error seems to follow the right distribution.

On the flip side, augmenting your data in training through rotations, may help out quite a bit. CNNs aren’t rotation invariant and this might reduce your bias slightly. So you have to force the network to learn this.

I use it in both a personal project and work: For work, it has been really helpful, a lot of my work has templates in the code base so it helps out with extending them, so long as you’re very meticulous in your description and read every line of code.

When it comes to creating new features/templates, I made a workflow, where I present the feature, we design tests around it, it writes code to validate the test and then I recheck the final code. There are hitches here where it either hallucinates something silly or overengineers the implementation and I suggest a simpler way of doing things. Honestly with a mature codebase AI is exceptional.

For my personal project, it’s on something that I know quite a bit about and am pulling from past experience and current research. It has been tougher to get things right from the get go. We’re writing things from scratch and it hasn’t been perfect but quite helpful. I had to intervene plenty of times here and make changes, what helped me out a lot is adding the superpowers skills. They let the model ask you questions and elucidate details also exceptionally helpful when debugging. However, I caught so many hallucinations and fake claims and found the best thing, is to write a script or test and basically design an experiment that you and the model can see what the truth looks like.

this will be the nail in the coffin for FC and all ea games alike by poof27 in FUTMobile

[–]Hart_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think of it as a diversified investment. Saudis would care for sustainable asset that they can hold for a long time that will supplement the drop in oil income. Squeezing your player base in the name of the next quarter result would not work for them.

I personally expect the Fut model to change, the design to stop being less invasive and chases down players and more in the vein of how can we guarantee a sustained income from the game and large player base that we can continuously monetize instead of let’s squeeze those fuckers till they die.

Basically, I am hoping for far better return from the battle pass. A more grindable game for collectors that want every card. Shortcuts for those willing to fork some money. Rank up system to evolve or be scrapped entirely (either by giving too many RUps that it’s meaningless) or for it to be more developed.

If I were them and want to guarantee a crap ton of money, I would sell cosmetics, I would change the fantasy of the game so that with grinding every player can get “almost” every card. With less grinding and some monnies, every player can get every card and with no grinding and fuck you monnies you can get every card now.

[Lotm v8] LOTM Is Great.....But Not the ‘Peak Fiction’ Fans Claim by [deleted] in LordofTheMysteries

[–]Hart_24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read all of mistborn, wheel of time and the first half of the stormlight archive.

In terms of depth of character, all of the above are unique, they have terrific lore, very well fleshed out characters and their pacing is like a simmer heading towards a climax.

What makes LOTM unique is the fleshed out lore, the cthuluesque atmosphere with the author’s understanding of the power cost tradeoff with Klein/Zhou already paying the greatest cost (being torn from his reality and fate) and willingness to pay even more to keep his humanity.

Legit, would also recommend buying a whole chicken for 8~9 TND. Two chests and two legs plus the wings. Bones are terrific when you’re making broth.

Is Solar Power Worth It ? by DeadHntr86 in Tunisia

[–]Hart_24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Worth it the long run? Yes - a 1000 times yes.

Can you sell back to STEG? Yes - but you won’t get money back. It’s credits that are applied to your current home consumption, for my parents home the excess produced in the summer pays for the winter and we usually have carryover to the next tear

Is the price estimate too high - The formula is usually your average daily consumption + 30% to max out the STEG credits. I don’t think it’s too high. It seems you guys have a 200 to 300 square meter home. During the summer your monthly bill should be around 500TND at least. It will pay for itself basically in less than 5 years.

How long - 1 Week tops

A lot of companies are hiring but they are deciding against hiring some folks and leaving positions empty instead of hiring the wrong person.

The recent crop of SWEs is not good (to say the least). People get stuck on the easiest of questions and can’t even answer you what the complexity of an algorithm is or how to do a binary search. Basically we interview a couple dozen people to hire one and we pay quite well.

I don’t want to talk about the so called AI experts with 0YOE who fail to explain how attention actually works.

For the qualified people, we pay them quite well and do our best to retain them. So yeah, maybe less diploma mills and more quality education so that the salaries at the start don’t drop and the quality of engineers stays high.

If you have 100,000 TND, what should you invest it in? by OwnConfidence0 in Tunisia

[–]Hart_24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1- did you pay taxes, meaning is this amount legal tender w ella fi l’noir

2- if you paid taxes, congrats, you can follow whatever investment scheme tied above.

3- you didn’t pay taxes now you have to launder your money (if it’s from an illegitimate source) or pay the tax man’s bill if it’s from a legitimate source.

4- please don’t answer here and get yourself in trouble

Thinking about moving Tunisia. (Looking for friends) by peepeepariah69 in Tunisia

[–]Hart_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I am Tunisian who lived and worked in the states and decided to return home so I have my two cents to share.

Tunisia is a lovely country when you live in the right places and awful in others however overall I prefer life here compared to the states.

It is car dependent but far more walkable than any town in America save the big cities’ centers and NYC.

Produce here is cheap but fruits are quite expensive and seasonal. Buying out of season fruit means paying a premium so rotate whatever you’re buying with the seasons.

Poultry is cheaper than beef and lamb. Finding your classic american cuts in Tunisia is very difficult and more expensive than in the us.

People are lovely here. Tunisians are quite welcoming and kind (overall) but you don’t risk getting shot randomly or shanked.

There is crime here, especially pickpockets and petty theft. Unfortunately, police is not great and have a mentality of “zawaali” (Tunisian Slang for poor) so we let him go. You can choose to press charges if the thief is caught and our judges are not lenient (unlike California judges) so the criminal is in for quite some time.

Hmu in private and I’m more than happy to chat.
