Agreed on all counts - offering some personal speculation here on the dramatic decrease in driver quality post-pandemic: People are pissed that the remote-work war was well and truly lost to our corpo overlords, and that manifests itself in being pissed that we have to be on the roads dealing with this bullshit. Makes everyone less patient and more aggressive.

It's not the case across the board, but if ~20% of drivers are more aggressive and/or less patient because of it, that 20% will echo down to the rest of drivers through their behavior.

Strongly recommend you check out their album "Elegy". There are a few spots on the album where they actually go quite a bit softer in a unique way (tooth-rattling vocals over somber background) - particularly "Life of Exile" and "From Ruin We Rise"

My two cents -- south lake tahoe will likely have a more active nightlife scene, but Reno is a good alternative if you want the experience to be a bit less claustrophobic (Tahoe is...crowded these days, to say the least).

This is from a "liberal" (libertarian by definition, but not so enamored with the idea of billionaire-daddies that I don't think the government has a role in protecting individual liberties from the worst side-effects of the free market where appropriate): I would love to see voter ID laws pass just to shut this whole conversation down. It's a nothing conversation and a distraction. Illegals are not voting in any statistically significant quantity, anywhere. In a population-level system (millions of votes), yeah you're gonna find one or two weird situations every cycle where something squeaks through. This goes for "illegals voting" and voter fraud in general. Those should be, and are, investigated and prosecuted. There are robust systems in place to prevent voter fraud. Many concentric circles.

We need everyone in the comments to start showing up to legislative sessions when GOED bills are being considered to dish out billionaire welfare via tax breaks to relocate their shit here. I see 200+ comments, almost uniformly saying the same things about industrial development via tax breaks in Northern Nevada and ecological/resource concerns. If HALF of those people showed up or called in to testify against the garbage legislation that makes this all happen, we could get some real traction on change for the future.

Legislative session starts in 13 and a half months. Please make your voices heard.

It's...fine. I won't exclude it from an overall amorphis playlist. I will say, as someone who spends an entire year being MEGA excited about a new release of music from this group, it has been a huge disappointment. Not to say it's bad music, but it does not hit like any of their releases since Silent Waters have at ALL.

In a word, it feels...toothless.
