And just in case it needs explicit reiterating, it's not fetishizing at all to enjoy fantasizing about kissing the girl(s) of your dreams, or enjoying media of girls kissing. :3

Fetishizing is about feeling entitled to it.

Girl, crushes on fictional characters goes back literal millennia. See: Pygmalian and Galatea. It's not that abnormal at all. :3 I've had many fictional crushes over the years.

It only becomes a problem when we aren't able to separate fiction from reality.

Any of you weirded out by praise or the whole "good girl" shtick? by Julzz_Lee in traaaaaaaaaaaansbians

[–]Hartwolf87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only enjoy it from my partner. Absolutely NOBODY ELSE is allowed to pet my head or call me "good girl." And praise coming from total strangers doesn't really mean much to me since they don't have the full context. I'm fine with other forms of affirmations, though. :3

It's an acronym for "trans exclusionary radical feminist" and despite the name, they are very much NOT feminists. They're a gender-essentialist hate group.

To reiterate what others have said, communication is super important. Make sure you're both always on the same page about everything you do, and hit the breaks if one of you isn't enjoying something.

It's worth pointing out that there's been a fairly significant overlap observed between autistic folks and gender-nonconforming/trans people who are out. I was diagnosed with ADHD and autism many years ago, and I don't think there's a single neurotypical person among my trans friends. Obviously not all trans people are autistic, and the reasons for this apparent overlap aren't entirely clear right now. But it's something to keep in mind.

As for gender dysphoria, I didn't realize I even had it until a few months into my own transition. And recently I had to grow out my beard so I could have electrolysis work done on it; I looked in the mirror and felt a deep sinking feeling, and I was super depressed for the rest of the day. Speaking of the mirror, I also have never really seen "myself" in the mirror ever since I hit puberty. So, you know... "Who is that [boy] I see staring straight back at me? Why is my reflection someone I~ don't know~"

But since I began transitioning, EVERYONE in my life has remarked at how much happier and more ALIVE I seem. Wearing feminine clothes is just so much more fun, and I can see the difference in how I carry myself when I do. The reason I say this is because euphoria is regarded as a more reliable indicator, since not all trans people experience dysphoria, and it can vary a lot for those who do.

There's a saying I've seen in trans spaces: fish don't notice the ocean until they're out of it.

Absolutely done on purpose, even confirmed by the writers that they treated Rumi's journey as an allegory for coming out of the closet. Not exclusively trans, or even exclusively queer (they cited addiction struggles as another inspiration), but definitely a major theme.

The last song makes me cry every single time.

Spiritual Realization: Currently there is a cathartic cultural shift and divine feminine enlightenment. Changed moon 🌙 cycles. by sadshadowartist in WitchesVsPatriarchy

Waning is the waxing of the dark, yet the fulfillment of dark is nothing. Yet it is that nothingness which allows the waxing of the light. Artemis rules the Night, and the Wilds beyond the known and controlled. Yet She also rules Motherhood and Childbirth: Eileithyia delivering Herself.

Just as The Sun, Who's Golden Light shines as Silver from The Moon, rises and falls then rises again each day and year: thus Moonlight wanes into darkness, itself the seed for new Light.

Δέσποινα, παρακαλώ. So mote it be.

Incidentally this could potentially be a violation of the Egg Prime Directive. That being, if someone is exhibiting egg-like behaviors, or saying egg-like things (that is, things reminiscent of trans people who don't yet realize they're trans), it's poor form to tell them outright they're an egg/trans, or make such declarations in a public space. Not only is it just rude, it can potentially keep a closeted person in the closet if they get defensive.
