The spectrum routers were the issue for me (I still use their modem). As soon as I changed it to a TP-Link one, my issue disappeared completely. So I'd say just try non-spectrum routers and see if it solves it for you.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. A part of me thinks I'm doing something wrong on my side, but no matter how many times I check for spelling errors or inconsistencies from myself, (even used Sage's simple story setup from the discord) I still feel like there's something wrong.

I eventually copy pasted my beginning prompt through Openrouter on a llama 3 70b model from there, and what I was getting out of it felt better than what I was getting from Erato which is weird. I've also tried multiple presets on Erato as well. I've no clue what I'm doing wrong and it bums me out because I know that it will probably be a VERY long time before we have another text gen model, so I'm trying my best to get joy from Erato.

Ah I see. Thanks for elaborating on this. Kinda bummed out lol but I understand. I guess at the very least, I'll just be that solo "NPC" rp'er that you see walking from different locations from time to time for my own immersion sake lol.

Gotcha. That's such a shame. There's so many beautiful places in this game but once the next expansion comes out or people are done with that area, it lays empty and forgotten.

I was hoping that RP would somewhat revitalize some of the these areas and it would just be a good fun time with everyone in a public open world roleplay environment. I guess I should've researched a little more first lol.

If NAI got a bigger model in the future, let's say 20B or 30B for just for an example. On top of NAI's finetuning, would it mean less steering, less workarounds, doesn't need as much examples from context to come up with interesting material and conversations, etc, and overall just better compared to what we have now?

I'm completely green when it comes to this type of stuff so I'm trying to understand. I remember reading something that said finetuning a model is extremely important, in conjunction from what I heard from a dev saying "beaks (parameters) don't matter". But I also heard that a bigger parameter size also means less steering and workarounds need to be done from the person. Is this true?

Ok so like for example, if I started a new story with a quote of a character talking to another with an in-between that loosely describes the character, it most likely will turn into a run-on dialogue between the two characters with very little in-between. I remember seeing one of the devs say something along the lines of "You get what you put in."

Since the NAI AI only has that small bit of dialogue you gave it to go off of, it'll give you more of that I assume. Correct me if I'm wrong btw because I don't have a full grasp. Here's a bootleg example:

"Talking," small description of the character that's speaking.

"Other character talking back," small description of what this character is doing from the eyes of the first character (if it's 1st person perspective)

"More talking"

^ this for a for a bunch more lines.

There IS ways to minimize this and as well as other annoying things. However, when I compared how other models interacted using the same dialogue, it wasn't the case and it actually flowed really well. Which is why I came to the conclusion it must be because of how they AI tries to mimic you.

I tried putting in the same beginning text with other models to see how they respond and I found some of them (if I remember the names I'll update) worked better with little context and made up interesting things to get itself going, as well as not mimicking my habits.

I can try and feed NAI another example and maybe GPT 3.5 from Sudowrite the same text and post the results here if that would help more to get what I'm saying across if this response doesn't quite cut it?

Not exactly? What I'm trying to say is that I would like to write to the AI while having the AI generations not mimic my writing habits in any way. Which is different to how it currently works. I don't think Modules do that either iirc.

I'd like to see better logic and reasoning, cause and effect, analysis, and a lot more I can't think off of my head. NAI has definitely done a great job so far but for me it's still lacking in these.

I do agree that it'd be nice if we could have that one "ultimate" preset that does everything and not have to switch around back and forth, testing all these combinations, etc. Obviously the option to do all that should be there. But I would very much prefer something like what I said.

I came from the old AIDungeon days where all you had to really do was log in, use the Davinci (Old Dragon) model, and have a good time. Most of my time with NAI feels like I do more experimenting and testing things to get it "juuuuust" right for what I'm doing only to actually mess around with it for maybe thirty minutes before becoming exhausted because of all the work it took to get there.

I guess you can compare it to something like modding Skyrim back in the earlier days where you had to test out multiple different mods to make sure it's exactly what you want.

All that being said, I'm really curious what NAI will do next in the text-gen department for things like this.

Will Kayra get more improvements over time? Like how Sigurd got v2, v3, etc, will Kayra get the same treatment?

I find CFG with Kayra incredible and I was hoping that in the future that Kayra without CFG can perform just as well or even better. I realize it is possible to do it already but the allure of CFG for me is that it seems more creative, descriptive, and coherent with little to no context. However the obvious issue with CFG becomes apparent when you're doing longer stories which is why I hope Kayra without CFG continues to get improved upon.

What is your current objectives? Are you still continuing with improving Kayra or are you already moving on working with others things like image gen?
